Answers:
Well, first let me say, I sympathize, as I was recently suffering with a sore throat!. With that said!.!.!.

Warm liquids will help, I believe, especially if you have post-nasal drainage!. Cool/cold things will help sooth irritation!. Certainly stick with fluids (and increase fluids, in fact, to get on the mend quicker) and stick with soft foods to reduce pain!. On to the food!.!.!.

Warm/savory food ideas-

Obviously, soup is the first thing that comes to mind!. It's warm, savory, can be made with tons of things, and is comforting; what's there not to like!? If your throat is really sore, just try some veggie broth at first- vegetable stock can be made or purchased, just season it up a little- not too spicy, though!. also, avoid tomato soups, as they are some what acidic, and might irritate your throat!. For something heartier, try a creamy potato or black bean soup!. Yum! Creamy carrot soup is also good!. And once you're really ready to get things a little more solid, try a vegetable minestrone- various cooked veggies, perhaps some rice, in a vegetable stock!. Oh, cheddar cheese soup with some soft bread for dipping!. Or creamy mushroom soup!.

Don't forget the traditional mashed potatoes!. You can do a similar textured dish out of cooked, smashed cauliflower, or mashed sweet potatoes with a little butter and brown sugar!. Delish!.

Cool/cold savory ideas-

For savory things, this is a little more difficult, but try out some cottage cheese!. Some soups are also good served cold, and often suggested to be served cold- the black bean soup and carrot soup are a couple that are really good cold!. Stir in a little sour cream, if you can (see below about dairy)!.

Cool/cold sweet ideas-

Well, obviously, Popsicles and ice cream are cold and yummy!. However, if you have nasal drainage, especially if it's in your throat, avoid the dairy (this applies to warm things as well), as it will make it stickier in your throat!. Ew! I would stick with fruit sorbet (made with fruit and juice, not dairy)!. They have Popsicles in this variety as well, known as frozen fruit bars!. Not only will they sooth your throat, but with real fruit in them, they're also good for you, so they're good for a pick me up!. also try some flavored Italian ice!. And let's not forget jello! Cool and soft, it slides right down!. Add some extra flavor by making it with some fruit juice!.

I hope these ideas help and get you or your friends/family on the mend!.

Remember, stay full of fluids!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here is something substantial that you can make, instead of something to drink!. You will need a blender or food processor, though!. Cut 1 or 2 potatoes (unpeeled) and one large onion (peeled) into large chunks!. Put into a soup pot and cover with chicken broth (you can make from chicken boullion cubes)!. Cook until done, about 20 minutes!. Take off the stove, let cool just a bit, then puree in batches in a blender!. Season with salt and pepper (to taste) and add some ground cumin if you want a slightly Middle Eastern taste!. If you have cauliflower in the house, you can add about 1/3 of a small head (cut into chunks or flowerettes) to the soup pot for cooking!. This is very nourishing, goes down easy with a sore throat, and can be varied in flavor just about any way you wish!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
