My ginger snap cookies turned out chewy and soft instead of snappy and crunchy.?!

they probally were a little too thick on the sheet and be sure to have the oven screaming hot before you put the cookies in!. It may not hurt to go 10 to 20 degrees higher on oven temp mnext time!. Just be sure to watch your cookies to be certain they donr burn!. Recipes work different for people in different areas!. A warmer climate or higher altitude can make a big difference believe it or not!.

GINGER SNAP COOKIES
Mix:
3/4 c!. shortening
1 c!. sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp!. molasses
Sift together:
1 tsp!. cinnamon
1 tsp!. cloves
1 tsp!. ginger
2 tsp!. baking soda
2 c!. flour
Mix shortening, sugar egg and molasses!. Sift together cinnamon, cloves, ginger, baking soda, flour!. Mix into egg-sugar ingredients!. Form into balls the size of walnuts!. Dip one side into sugar!. Bake 350 degrees, approximately 18 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

That happens when they've been left out to long or they have gone off!.
I remember i left the packet of my ginger nuts open and i bit into one and it was all soggy and not crunchy, if i were you id but a new fresh packet, and they should be nice and crunchy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they got stale!.!.!.!.put them in a air tight container and keep them sealed tightlyWww@FoodAQ@Com
