Answers:
Rub some vegetable oil or vegetable shortening on the skin before wrapping it in foil!. Pierce the potato to that it doesn't explode, wrap in foil and bake at 350F (Gas Mark 4) for at least 55 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds as though they weren't baked long enough!.They take a long time!.
Use a double layer of foil!.Spread a bit of butter or some oil on the wrap where the potato will sit!.Poke a few holes in the sweet potato!.Wrap well and bake or place on the bbq!.It will take at least an hour and a half to be tender and soft!.
You can check them by unwrapping and poking with a sharp knife to see if they are soft!.If not, return to the oven/bbq and bake awhile longer!.The larger the potato, the longer it will take to bake of course!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sweet potatoes are my favorite!. try this you will love it!. take aluminum foil and line the entire pan with foil!. place your sweet potatoes in the foiled pan, if you have 4 sweet potatoes take 2 sticks of butter or margarine and place it on the potatoes and in the pan!. take a cup of sugar or a little more and sprinkle it on the sweet potatoes!. cover the pan and bake it in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for one hour and 30 minutes!. you will have a soft and very tasty sweet potato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
