Easy meals or meals i can freeze? (when the newborn comes along)?!
anyone have any real easy meals that don't take long to cook!? or meals i can prepare & freeze that won't taste bad reheated!?
im only 7 months along but i think my nesting is starting to kick in & i'm just trying to plan everything ahead of time & maybe post some recipes on the fridge so i don't have to worry about it later on

One of the only things I don't mind cooking, freezing and then reheating are chimichangas!. On recipezaar, (my favorite recipe site) there are a few recipes - type in # 28148- where you can bake the chimichangas instead of frying and just reheat them later!. Or, as I personally prefer, get the hard part over by preparing just the chicken (and other ingredients for the inside only) and freezing that!. Then later, when you are ready to eat them, thaw it and just stick it in some flour tortillas and put them in the oven and they will taste just like they would if you had completely made them in one night! Buy some frozen ravioli!. They boil in just a few minutes and then if you don't wanna bother with more pots just drain the water, put the ravioli back in the pot and dump in your jarred spaghetti sauce and let it simmer!. Just don't eat too much because its a little heavy and you'll definitely need energy for your little one!. Eat it with a nice salad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make home-made spaghetti and meatballs, I add sausage also!. Unfortunately, I have no "recipe" I just make it by taste!. Take six large cans of tomato pure, and add it to a large stockpot, add onion & garlic powder, salt, pepper, basil and a couple of bay leaves!. In a frying pan, cook some Italian sausages until browned, hot, mild or combo!. Cut the sausages in half or thirds and add them to the sauce!. Make 2-3 lbs of meatballs!. I bake them, and add them to the sauce as well!. Cook for a few hours then freeze family size portions!.
Lasagna, freezes well, my family doesn't eat the whole thing so I get 2 - 8x8 disposable cake pans and split a normal recipe between the two of them!.

1 tablespoon garlic powder

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Lightly grease a baking pan!.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with the olive oil, and place it in the oven while preheating!.
In a medium bowl, mix together the ground turkey or beef, egg, and bread crumbs using your hands!. Using an ice cream scoop if possible, form the meat into golf ball sized meatballs!. Place about 1 inch apart in the hot baking dish!. Press down to flatten the bottom just slightly!.
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven, then turn them over, and continue baking for about 5 more minutes, or until somewhat crispy on the outside!. Serve with pasta and sauce or however you'd like!.

DIRECTIONS
In a large saucepan over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion until brown; drain!. Stir tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, garlic powder, oregano and mushrooms into beef mixture!. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer one hour!. Serve over hot pasta!.
Beef Stroganoff (to add to noodles after taking out of freezer :)
1 pound ground beef
1 (10!.75 ounce) can fat free condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 cup sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
In a separate large skillet over medium heat, saute the ground beef over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or until browned!. Drain the fat and add the soup and garlic powder!. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally!.
Remove from heat and combine the meat mixture with the sour cream, stirring well, and season with salt and pepper to taste!. Add to hot cooked noodles
also, bake a couple of turkey breasts in the oven at a time, then cut up and put in freezer!. You can also make instant dressing ahead of and add sauteed chopped celery and onions to go with the turkey!. Make sliced turkey with gravy on toast, with dressing on the side, cranberry sauce and green bean casserole!.

Ready in 1 hour or less
12 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
2 cartons (8 oz each) whipped cream cheese with onion and chives2 tablespoons butter
salt to taste
12 bacon strips
Flatten chicken to ? inch thickness!. Spread 3 tablespoons cream cheese over each!. Dot with butter and sprinkle with salt; roll up!. Wrap each with a bacon strip!. Place, seam side down, in a greased pan!. Bake, uncovered, at 400 for 35-40 minutes or until juices run clear!. Broil 6 inches from the heat for 5 minutes or until bacon is crisp!.
Freeze these uncooked!.

2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
1 medium Onion -- chopped
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
1 tablespoon Prepared Mustard
1/2 cup Barbecue Sauce
2 tablespoons Catsup
Brown ground beef & onion in a large skillet and drain!. Add other ingredients and simmer for 5 minutes!. Serve on buns or over broken bread!.
This recipe freezes very well!.

2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
8 ounces Cream Cheese
1 tablespoon Green Pepper -- minced
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/2 cup Swiss Cheese -- grated
8 ounces Egg Noodles -- (package)
1 pound Cottage Cheese
1/3 cup Green Onion -- chopped
2 cups Tomato Sauce
In a large pan, cook noodles in boiling, salted water until tender!. Drain & set aside!. In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream!. Add onion and peppers!. Set aside!. Brown ground beef & drain any fat!. Add tomato sauce to ground beef!. Grease 9 x 13 inch cake pan or casserole dish, and arrange the following layers: Noodles, cheese mixture, meat mixture - then repeat!. Top with grated Swiss cheese!. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes!.
Note: If you will be freezing this casserole for later use, you may want to reduce or omit the amount of green pepper and onion which are used, as they have a tendency to get stronger over a long period of time!.

1 cup Onions -- diced
1 cup Green Bell Peppers -- diced
1/2 pound Mushrooms
1/4 cup Butter or Margarine
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1 pound Cheddar Cheese -- shredded
2 cups Chicken -- cooked and diced
1 can Tomatoes with Green Chilis
1 clove Garlic -- minced
2 tablespoon Chili Powder
1 tablespoon Chicken Broth
12 Corn Tortillas -- torn into quarters
In a large pan, sauté onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms in butter, Add soups, tomatoes & chilies, garlic, chili powder, and chicken broth!. Line bottom of a 9x13 inch pan with pieces of tortillas!. Spread half the chicken over the tortillas and top with half of the sauce, then half of the cheese!. Cover with another layer of torn corn tortillas, and repeat the chicken, sauce and cheese layers!. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until bubbly!.
Serves 6
(When freezing, put in freezer after assembling casserole, and bake when ready to eat!.)

Prego or Ragu spaghetti sauce
Cook ground beef until well browned, add spaghetti sauce and sugar!. Heat!.
In 13 x 9 x 2 inch tin foil baking pan, spoon a little sauce in bottom of pan evenly!. Layer noodles, ricotta, Mozzarella, spaghetti sauce and Parmesan!. Repeat until all ingredients are used, ending with sauce and Parmesan!.
Cover with tin foil and freeze!. Thaw!. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour!. Makes 2 lasagnas!. Can make meatballs and put around on top before freezing

BROWN meat in large (4-qt!.) saucepan on medium heat; drain!.
ADD peppers, garlic, spaghetti sauce, water and dressing; bring to boil!. Stir in noodles; reduce heat to medium-low!. Cover!.

2 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
2 cups frozen broccoli florets
10-oz!. refrigerated container four cheese pasta sauce
2 cups cubed cooked ham
8 thin french bread slices
Heat water in pot and cook pasta according to package directions to al dente!. Add broccoli during last three minutes of cooking time!. Drain and leave in colander!.
Open pasta sauce and spread a small amount of the sauce (about 2 tsp!.) on each slice of french bread!. Spoon remaining pasta sauce into saucepan!. Add cooked and drained pasta, broccoli, and ham!. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally!. Toast bread in toaster oven until brown and bubbly!. Serve bread with pasta!. 4 servings
Sweet & Sour Pineapple Chicken
2 cups green pepper
2 cups celery, sliced diagonally
2 tablespoons oil
1 tin (14 ounces) unsweetened pineapple tidbits (drained)
2 cups drained pineapple juice with water added to make up
5 tablespoons cornstarch
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 cups left over chicken, cut in cubes
cooked rice (as required)
Saute vegetables in oil until tender crisp!. Remove from pan!. Combine

1 lb!. ground beef
2 med!. onions, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (4 oz!.) can mushrooms
1 lb!. can tomatoes
1 (6 oz!.) can tomato paste
2 tsp!. salt
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp!. thyme
1/2 tsp!. hot sauce
1 tsp!. Worcestershire
Heat olive oil in large heavy saucepan!. Add beef, breaking up with fork, add onions and garlic!. Cook until beef is brown!. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30 minutes!. Chill quickly by setting pan in refrigerator!. Spoon into freezer containers and freeze!. Label and store up to 3 months!. Place frozen block of sauce into saucepan and heat slowly when ready to serve!.
Weekend Lasagna Toss

1 lb!. lean ground beef
2 cups chopped green peppers (about 2 peppers)
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 jar (26 oz!.) spaghetti sauce
1-2/3 cups water
1/4 cup KRAFT Zesty Italian Dressing
12 oven-ready lasagna noodles, broken into quarters
1 cup KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese
BROWN meat in large (4-qt!.) saucepan on medium heat; drain!.
ADD peppers, garlic, spaghetti sauce, water and dressing; bring to boil!. Stir in noodles; reduce heat to medium-low!. Cover!.
COOK, stirring occasionally, 10 to 15 min!. or until noodles are tender!. Remove from heat!. Sprinkle with cheese!. Cover; let stand 5 min!. or until cheese is melted!.
BAKED MANICOTTI
Preparation time: 5 mins!.
Cook time: 25 mins!.

Ingredients: 1 jar (1 lb!. 10 oz!.) Pasta Sauce
8 fresh or frozen prepared manicotti
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 2 oz!.)
2 Tbsp!. grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1!. Preheat oven to 450°!.
In 13 x 9-inch baking dish, spread 1/2 of the Pasta Sauce!.
Add manicotti, then top with remaining Pasta Sauce and sprinkle with cheeses!.
Bake covered 20 minutes!.
Remove cover and continue baking 5 minutes or until heated through!.
Five Ingredient Pasta and Ham Meal

2 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
2 cups frozen broccoli florets
10-oz!. refrigerated container four cheese pasta sauce
2 cups cubed cooked ham
8 thin french bread slices
Heat water in pot and cook pasta according to package directions to al dente!. Add broccoli during last three minutes of cooking time!. Drain and leave in colander!.
Open pasta sauce and spread a small amount of the sauce (about 2 tsp!.) on each slice of french bread!. Spoon remaining pasta sauce into saucepan!. Add cooked and drained pasta, broccoli, and ham!. Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally!. Toast bread in toaster oven until brown and bubbly!. Serve bread with pasta!. 4 servings
Sweet & Sour Pineapple Chicken
2 cups green pepper
2 cups celery, sliced diagonally
2 tablespoons oil
1 tin (14 ounces) unsweetened pineapple tidbits (drained)
2 cups drained pineapple juice with water added to make up
5 tablespoons cornstarch
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 cups left over chicken, cut in cubes
cooked rice (as required)
Saute vegetables in oil until tender crisp!. Remove from pan!. Combine
pineapple juice with water, cornstarch, brown sugar, vinegar and soy
sauce in saucepan!. Cook, stirring constantly until sauce thickens!.
Add drained pineapple, vegetables and chicken!. Heat and serve with
rice!.
