Timing beef steaks?!
If I am cooking steaks for a group of four people using the pan to oven method and each one likes their steaks cooked differently i!.e!. rare to well done!. When and how do I get the timings synchronised so we can eat together!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
if your pan is big enuf for 4 steaks, put 'em in to cook at about 1 minute intervals!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Why use the oven!? That just complicates things!.
Start all steaks at the same time!. Take each one off the pan as it is done to the guest's request and leave each of the others in until they're done!. A steak should sit for a few minutes after it's done anyway, which gives you time to tidy up on the rest of your side dishes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chill your mid to rare steaks, it will take longer to cook and less likely to overcook!. I'd use two pans, one for wells and one for rares!. I think if you start cooking your rares right after you place your wells in the oven they should all come close to what you are looking for!. Careful with the heat!. I wouldn't go above 300!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
i guess make the ones that likes well done first because those will take the longest to cook, then the ones that likes theirs more on the rare side, those will go on last because you're cooking them the least amount of time!. it's best to grill them, though, so all of the steaks will at least be on the grill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
