What did I do to my salisbury steak?!

Question: What did I do to my salisbury steak!?
Ok I'm cooking my own salisbury steak for the first time!.!.!.here's how I did it!.!.!.!.I mixed eggs, onion soup mix, and bread crumbs in a bowl and formed them to patties!. I spread some gravy in a pan to cook them in and it's really greasy cause there's really no way to drain them first, right!? Any suggestions for next time!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Next time try to get some really lean hamburger meat, and it won't be so greasy!. The recipe sounds fine to me, but if you want a new recipe try http://allrecipes!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com

I assume you also put ground beef in w/ the eggs, onion soup, and bread crumbs!.!.!.!.

Next time, dust patties w/ flour, then fry the patties on each side!. You don't h ave to cook them all the way thru, but you want a good sear and good color on the outsides!. Remove to a plate!. Deglaze your skillet w/ beef or veggie stock, maybe a dash of red wine!.!.!.!. scrape up cooked on bits!. Add patties back to liquid in skillet, return to a simmer, then cover and lower heat and cook for about 20-30 min, flipping them about half-way thru!. The flour on the patties will thicken your gravy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dry the steaks with a paper towel!. Dip steak into egg, drain excess off , then dip in crumb mix!. Never heard of forming into patties before!. Make sure oil is hot before placing into skillet(drop of water test)!. Do not turn over until blood runs clear on top!. Turn only once!. Then put into another pan containing the onion soup mix and remain bread crumbs, bring mixture to low boil, stirring to ensure it does not stick!.
Put in steaks for about 5-8 min!.

Just saw Sugar Pie's answer, I would go with it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
