I am making a "Big Red Car" themed cake for my daughter's 3rd birthday!. I have made a regular rectangle cake that I am using for the base, and want it to be the road!. What colours of food colouring do I mix into white icing to make it grey!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Opposite colors on the color wheel should give you grayish results such as mixing red and green!. You can add a touch of blue to achieve a bluish gray or a tad bit of yellow to make a brownish gray!.
Better yet, check with your local bakeries to see if they will make the icing for you or they may have the colors you need!.!.!.!. ready mixed!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Wilton makes black coloring!. But to make black icing one has to use chocolate as base then put the black in it!. It does make lovely greys and charcoals tho in buttercream!.

to make grey, blue yellow and red, but this is not an exact science when it comes to cake decorating rather than blending stuff to go on paper like artists do!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Grey icing = grey food coloring + icing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
