Trying to make a shrimp side dish for my chicken brunswick stew. Ideas?!

Question: Trying to make a shrimp side dish for my chicken brunswick stew!. Ideas!?
Hello~

I'm making this Chicken Brunswick Stew for dinner:
http://www!.foodnetwork!.com/food/recipes/!.!.!.

But we have a lot of mouths to feed, so I need some kind of side dish!. I'd like to make some use of a bag of frozen pre-cooked shrimp that's been in the freezer forever, but I'm not finding anything really GOOD to use it in (especially considering they're pre-cooked ; ; )!. I'd like to try to marinate them for a little while as the main dish is cooking, then fry them up quickly!. Not long enough to overcook them, mind you, just enough to make them fried instead of rubbery salad shrimp!. ^^;

What do you think I should do for the marinade that would go well with the barbecue flavor of the stew!? Or, do you have a better idea of how I could prepare them!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
You might try this!. Depending on how many shrimp you have!. In a sauce melt two or three stiks of butter saute chopped onion in butter add a little garlic and salt pepper or lemon pepper spread shimp on a foil boat brush cooked ingedients on shrimp and heat in oven or better yet bbq smoke flavor realy adds great tasteWww@FoodAQ@Com

i would make the shrimp and angel hair pasta!. you could use lemon to flavor the shrimp and add a little butter or oil to the pasta!. if you have frozen veggies or something like tomatoes or zuchinni to mix in it would be great!. fried zuchinni or squash is a really good add in to that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you know, on the link you provided, they have listed that paula also made a cole slaw on that episode!. i live on the gulf of mexico, and a lot of restaraunts down here use shrimp IN their coleslaw!. i've seen it in mayo-based slaw AND "sweet, vinegar" slaw!.!.!.

just a thought!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Make some Shrimp Fritters:

Take the frozen shrimp (No tails or shells-remove them if they are present) and process them while frozen in the food processor into chopped shrimp!. Combine with cornmeal, egg, garlic salt, milk, onion powder and cayenne pepper!. Form into 1 inch balls and fry for about 30 seconds to 1 minute (5 at a time) in hot fat or oil !. Season with kosher salt if neccessary after removing from oil!. Watch the salt, they may not need any with the Brunswick stew!. I make Brunswick a lot with Cottontail Rabbit meat!.

Richard B's recipe will be WAY too salty with the Brunswick stew!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thaw them out first and then dry them off with paper towel!. Marinate them in some soy sauce to which you should add a few drops of lemon juice and some chopped up garlic!. Let them marinate for an hour or two in the refrigerator, uncovered!. Turn them over every so often and pour the marinade over them!.

To cook them: Take them out of the refrigerator and let them stand for about half an hour!. Stir fry them in a hot skillet or in a wok until they're hated through!. Add some of the marinade and let it come to a boil!. Cover the skillet and turn off the heat!. Let the shrimp sit this way for maybe 15 minutes or so!.

Best served warm or at room temperature!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
