Question: What can you add to homemade bread to make it taste good, is it possible to add banana!?
Answers:
yeh add banana and a bit more sugar!.
it makes banana bread and it's great!!!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I make all my own baked goods, including breads!.
I would not put a heavy wet fruit like banana into a loaf bread!. Loaf breads are best flavored with light weight herbs, dried garlic, onions, etc!.
A heavy "loaf bread" can be made with olives, capers, pimentos, etc
Bananas and wet fruit should be made into sweet "quick breads" which are made from batters made with eggs and baking soda, rather than loaf bread with is made from a dough comprised of flour and yeast and water!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Finely minced olives, minced jalapenos, onion flakes, garlic powder, rosemary, thyme, and saffron!.

I would not put them all in the same bread though!. I would add one at a time of your favorite ingredients until you get the flavor spectrum you are looking for!. Sugar is also a good add!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

See the source web site below for the most 'must have' herb and spice recommendations from a master baker!. The site offers all these in a collection of mainly organic item or you can just select what you want from the standard range!.

The Baker's favourites are:
Aniseed , Caraway Seed, Coriander Seed, Cumin Seed, Fennel Seed, Mixed Herbs, Mixed Spice, Mustard Seed (black), Poppy Seed, Rosemary, Sesame Seed, Thyme!.

For sweet breads he recommends nutmeg, ginger, cinnnamon, cardamom, allspice, cloves and turmeric!.

I've added the Master Baker's website details too becuase he offers courses, has written a book and is starting up a Campaign for Real Bread!.

We make all our own bread (mostly in a bread machine, but rolls and french bread too) as I literally cannot eat factory bread now - it's too disgusting!.

We also often make Raisin Surprise because it amuses the children!. This contain just one Raisin and the surprise is finding it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Seeds!. I always add lots of sunflower seeds to mine but the only limit really is your imagination - so what if you make a batch that doesn't taste so good!? Feed it to the birds and try again!

Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, raisins, sultana's chopped nuts, anything you like really! Making mistakes is all part of the fun of learning something new!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, but you might have to do some test loaves to get the proportions right!. There are recipes out there for Banana Yeast Breads (I haven't tried any myself)!.

There are also recipes that use ricotta cheese or applesauce!. I thought ricotta bread made fabulous toast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sure !.!.!. but not too much, or it'll weigh down a yeast bread!. I also have added 1/2 c!. pumpkin in the fall!.!.!.!.!. For a YEAST bread, you only add a small amount of well-mashed banana (maybe 1/2 banana) or pumpkin!. !.!.!. don't know why everyone thinks you can only use bananas in sweet bread:)Www@FoodAQ@Com
