Question: Can you make salad dressing with!.!.!.!?
I see some cooking shows and they usually make salad dressing with olive oil, lemon juice and salt/ pepper!. I don't have olive oil, but I do have Canola Olive oil!. Can I substitute olive oil with Canola Oil!? ThxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Olive oil is usually used for its flavor and for its health benefits!. If you don't mind skipping both of these, canola oil will work fine!. You may want to taste your dressing first, and add an extra seasoning herb or two to make up for the lost flavor the olive oil would have added!. It'll taste different, of course, but should be good!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes and no !.!.!. The canola oil isn't going to have nearly the same body and flavor that the olive oil is going to have, but it will be a slightly liter salad dressing!. Your forgetting one thing !.!.!. these are essentially vinaigrettes, so you need a acidic, high quality vinegar like Balsamic to go with it to overcome the not as high quality canola!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds delish, but use less Canola oil than your original recipe calls for since it is much thicker than regular EVOO :)

So yeah!.!.!.

And i guess vinegar and some sardines wouldn't hurt either!.!.!. (put it in a blender)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could use canola oil, but it's really heavy and doesn't have the same flavour as olive oil!.

If you have lemon juice, salt, pepper and mustard this also makes a great dressing- add some garlic and you're good to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Next to olive oil, canola is healthy and can be substituted!. The olive oil, esp!. extra virgin adds a distinct flavor, as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sure, but I would use a little less canola than it calls for since its a slightly thicker oil!.!. A little vinegar wouldnt hurt either!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes you can!.!.!.its almost the same!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

canola olive oil is greatWww@FoodAQ@Com

yes !.!.!.!. that's what was used before Olive Oil became so trendy!.!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
