my friend and i were baking muffins and she asks "what's a quarter cup plus a quarter cup!?" so obviously i replied "half a cup" only to find out that she was referring to tablespoons and just mixed up her words!.!.!. 1/2 a cup of salt in a small batch of carrot muffins is not pleasant ;)Www@FoodAQ@Com
I was following a recipe for a Triple-Tier Chocolate Cake when I decided to halve all the ingredients due to the immense theoretical yield!.
Halved everything but forgot to halve the number of eggs!. Used 4 of them instead of 2!.
That resulted in an extremely dense cake that refused to come out of the pan!. I had to eventually cut the pieces out, press them together to make it look like a cake!.
I quickly whipped up some chocolate icing that i let drip all over the cake liberally which hid all the mistakes i made!.
With all the oohs and aahs from the family, i cut them all a piece and let them sample it!. When they did realise that it was too dense, i told them that it was more like a pound cake and they bought it! =)
Heehee - and please learn from my mistake dear !!Www@FoodAQ@Com
