Question: Are snails really considered delicasy in France!? What does it taste like!?
Answers:
Many people in different parts of the world consider snails (escargot in France) to be a delicacy!. They really have no taste per se!.

In France and other parts of the world they are cooked with herbed butter and garlic!. That's what you will taste!. They can be a little rubbery if overcooked!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I come from New England and we ate snail there all the time!. Usually snail salad!. Of course we called it Scungilli, so next time you see that on a menu, that's what you're getting! I've seen it in italian restaurants all over the country!. And I love Escargot!. It really isn't that flavorful, it's like the neck of a clam really!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I thought it was sort of like a cross between calamari and oysters, texture and taste wise, except without the fry coating, and with a ton of salty garlic butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes they are a delicacy in France, and as long as they keep on being served with lashings of garlic butter the only thing you will notice is the chewy texture!. Delicious!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

escargot !.!.!.!. they don't really have alot of flavor, on their own, and are a little chewy!.!.!. but the garlic butter sauce is WONDERFUL!Www@FoodAQ@Com
