Question: I live in Canada, but loved the key lime pie i had in the florida keys!. anyone have a good recipe!.!?

Answers:
The best Key Lime pie we had when we were in key west was at Kermit's Key West Lime Shoppe!. They have won several local awards for their recipe, and they post one right on their site under their recipe section, which I have listed for you below!. The recipe calls for juice from their store, but if you substituted it with fresh squeezed key lime juice I'm sure it would work out fine!.

This recipe makes a 9-inch pie!.

Ingredients:
9-inch graham cracker piecrust
2 14-ounce cans sweetened condensed milk
6 egg yolks (The egg whites can be saved to make a meringue topping, if desired!. See recipe!.)
1/2-cup Kermit’s Key Lime Juice

Preparation:
Blend milk and egg yolks at slow speed until smooth!.
Add Key Lime juice and finish blending!.
Pour into piecrust!.

Bake in preheated 300-degree oven for 15 minutes!.

Cool pie 20 minutes before refrigerating!.

Serve chilled Key Lime pie with whipped cream topping or meringue!.

Serving suggestions:
Traditionally, Key Lime pie is enjoyed plain, with a whipped cream topping, or with a meringue topping!. For an interesting variation, drizzle chocolate sauce, mango sauce, and/or raspberry sauce over a slice of Key Lime pie!. The complimentary flavors are sure to please!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hi,

1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
3 tablespoons sugar
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup Key lime juice
1 container (8 oz) frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed

Recipe:

1!. Heat oven to 350°F!. In small bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, butter and sugar!. Press in bottom and up side of 9-inch glass pie plate!. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown; cool!.

2!. In large bowl, beat milk and lime juice with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and thickened!. Fold in whipped topping!. Spoon into cooled pie crust!.

3!. Cover and refrigerate about 1 hour or until set!. Store in refrigerator!.

It will take about 30 minutes to prepare and about one hour and 30 minutes in fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
