INGREDIENTS
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
3/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
DIRECTIONS
In 2-quart heavy saucepan melt butter!. Remove from heat and add sugar!. Stir well until blended!. Return to low heat, stir rapidly until reaching a rolling boil!. Place crackers in a single layer in a foil-lined 15-in!. x -10-in!. x 1-in!. baking pan!. In a saucepan, bring butter and sugar to a boil!. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 5-6 minutes or until mixture is thickened and sugar is completely dissolved!. Spread over crackers!.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 7-8 minutes or until bubbly!. Sprinkle with chips!. Bake 3-5 minutes longer or until chips begin to melt; spread chocolate evenly over top!. Melt white chocolate and shortening; drizzle over toffee!. Chill for 15-20 minutes or until set; break into pieces!. Store in the refrigerator

"Chocolate and almonds top off a rich buttery toffee!. A simple recipe that you could easily remember and whip up any time!. I always get compliments and requests for more!. Use any type of nut that you like in place of the almonds!."
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups butter

1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup finely chopped almonds
DIRECTIONS:
1!. In a large heavy bottomed saucepan, combine the butter, sugar and salt!. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the butter is melted!. Allow to come to a boil, and cook until the mixture becomes a dark amber color, and the temperature has reached 285 degrees F (137 degrees C)!. Stir occasionally!.
2!. While the toffee is cooking, cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper!.
3!. As soon as the toffee reaches the proper temperature, pour it out onto the prepared baking sheet!. Sprinkle the chocolate over the top, and let it set for a minute or two to soften!. Spread the chocolate into a thin even layer once it is melted!. Sprinkle the nuts over the chocolate, and press in slightly!. Putting a plastic bag over your hand will minimize the mess!.
