Worlds Best Lasagna: Tons of cheese, a little onion

INGREDIENTS
1 pound sweet Italian sausage
3/4 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup minced onion
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (6!.5 ounce) cans canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
12 lasagna noodles
16 ounces ricotta cheese
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 pound mozzarella cheese, sliced
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


DIRECTIONS
In a Dutch oven, cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until well browned!. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water!. Season with sugar, basil, fennel seeds, Italian seasoning, 1 tablespoon salt, pepper, and 2 tablespoons parsley!. Simmer, covered, for about 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally!.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil!. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes!. Drain noodles, and rinse with cold water!. In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt!.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!.
To assemble, spread 1 1/2 cups of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish!. Arrange 6 noodles lengthwise over meat sauce!. Spread with one half of the ricotta cheese mixture!. Top with a third of mozzarella cheese slices!. Spoon 1 1/2 cups meat sauce over mozzarella, and sprinkle with 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese!. Repeat layers, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese!. Cover with foil: to prevent sticking, either spray foil with cooking spray, or make sure the foil does not touch the cheese!.
Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes!. Remove foil, and bake an additional 25 minutes!. Cool for 15 minutes before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Cut 2 large potatoes into wedges and par-boil for 10 minutes!. also cut 2 medium red onions into wedges and add to the boiling potatoes for the last 2 minutes!. Drain and put into an oven proof dish that has been lightly greased!. Add a little crushed garlic (optional) and sprinkle over 100g of cheese!. Bake in the oven until the pototoes are cooked through and begining to crisp and brown and the cheese is melted and bubbling!. 1 can of tomato sauce (15oz can)
Half an onion (chopped)
1lb (or more if need be) of hamburger
Macaroni noodles
Shredded chedder cheese
Salt/Pepper

Preheat Oven to 350 degrees!. In a skillet, cook hamburger and onion together (be sure to drain the hamburger afterwards)!. After you drain the hamburger, place it back into the skillet!. Pour entire can of tomato sauce in skillet!. Stir hamburger, onion, sauce together on medium heat!. Add salt and pepper to your liking!.

Boil noodles!.!.!.i usually use 1/2 a box or a lil more!.!.depending on size of noodle box!. Then drain the noodles well!.

In a 9 x 13 glass dish, spread noodles on bottom of dish!. Pour hamburger/sauce mixture ontop of noodles in dish!. Mix noodles with the sauce mixture to get it even!. Take shredded cheese and spread it evenly ontop of the hamburger/noodles to your liking!. **I usually put almost 3/4 a bag on it to make it really cheesy**

I have two great recipes for you!.!.one is a dip or spread for crackers or small toasts, the other, a quick simple meal that takes only minutes to prepare:

***Cheesy Onion Dip***

2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups grated Colby, Swiss, or Cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped onion
Dash of red hot pepper sauce
Dash of Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F!.

Mix all ingredients together and place in a pie plate or any baking dish!. Bake until golden brown on top, about 30 minutes!. Serve with crackers or bagel chips!.

***Impossibly Easy Cheeseburger Pie***

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
1/2 cup Original Bisquick? mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs


1!. Heat oven to 400°F!. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray!.
2!. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain!. Stir in salt!. Spread in pie plate!. Sprinkle with cheese!.
3!. In small bowl, stir remaining ingredients with fork or wire whisk until blended!. Pour into pie plate!.
4!. Bake about 25 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

225g/8oz Cheese Shortcrust Pastry

4 Egg Yolks

300ml/10 fl!.oz!. Single Cream

2 tbsp Dry Vermouth

1/2 Vegetable Stock Cube

Salt and Black Pepper

Grated Nutmeg

Pinch Cayenne Pepper

6 tbsp finely sliced Spring Onion





Instructions



1!. Heat the oven to 200C, 40OF, Gas mark 6!. Roll out the pastry and line a 22cm/9 inch flan tin!. Prick the pastry bottom with a fork!.



2!. Line the pastry case with greaseproof and weight it down with dried beans!. Bake for 10 minutes!. Remove the case from the oven and lift out the paper and beans!. Turn the heat down to 15OC, 35OF, Gas mark 4 and return the pastry case for just 5-8 minutes longer, or until the crust is cooked!. Brush the case with beaten egg white to seal the crust!.



3!. Meanwhile beat the egg yolks in a bowl with thin cream until well mixed!. Add the stock cube, crumbled and the dry vermouth and season with salt, pepper, nutmeg and cayenne pepper to taste!. Stir in the spring onion!.



4!. Pour the filling into the prepared pastry case and bake for 30-35 minutes!. Serve immediately!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yea, but involves a lot more than just cheese and onions!.

Nachos are good, brushetta is fine topped on bread (parma cheese), fried potatoes with onions and cheese is good!. You should be more specific when asking a general generic question like that!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
