After both layers are completely cooled, turn the first one upside down onto your serving plate!. Cover top surface with some frosting!. Put second layer on top - right side up!. Spread frosting on top and sides, including both layers!. Smooth or swirl frosting as desired!. I like to use a somewhat firm spatula to spread the frosting!.
If the crumbs start to get picked up in the frosting, just relax and put a thin coat of frosting on all exposed surfaces and walk away for a few minutes til that frosting sorta dries!. Then you can easily spread the rest of the frosting without picking up more crumbs!
I'm sure you and your sister will enjoy your cake!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Once you have baked the cake, wait for it to fully cool down!.
Then cut it from the sides to the middle!. be careful, as it can crumble and break easily, especially if it is a sponge cake!.
When putting the cream/icing in the middle, make sure its not too thick, cause when you spread it, it will then crumble the cake and fall to pieces!. Not so appetizing!.
Its easider if you put cream inside, cause its fluffier than frosting and is easier and neater to spread!.
Good luck!. xxWww@FoodAQ@Com

put a small amount of frosting on the bottom of the cake plate to anchor first layer to plate!. then put frosting on the cake and cover the top!. don't put a whole lot, then add second layer and cover the top and the sides!. just make sure you cover the sides andtop and don't leave gaps!. you will do fine!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Do a others have suggested EXCEPT: when you have already cut the cake open, gently transfer each piece to a flat cookie sheet!. Then apply a thin layer of frosting, place cookie sheet and cake into the freezer for 5-10 minutes, then frost as you would normally!. The frozen layer of frosting will keep you from pulling crumbs into the new frosting!. If it gets soft, refreeze a few minutes!. Repeat until whole cake is frosted and crumb-free!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
