Hi, it depends on the roe, Tobiko and Misago which are used on the outside of the roll, are tiny red or green colored fish eggs from flying fish and smelts!. They have a slight crunch and are salty but blend with the sushi roll very well and balance things out!. Salmon roe is much larger and is served in larger quantities!. It is not very salty, however, it's texture takes some getting used to for some people!. Due to it's larger size, the outer membrane is very delicate and there quite a bit of liquid inside!. They almost explode in your mouth as you chew or press them against your upper palate!. Ask your server if the chef will give you a salmon egg to try!.

We only have smoked roe here and it is a little salty!.
Try to see if you can have a taste test at the deli bar or purchase the smallest piece and try it!.
Go to a sushi bar and have one to taste!.
There is no need to be concerned, you will either like it or not!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
