Does anybody know any recipes that they can tell me, so I can make a healthy shrimp dish (that is not a salad!)

Grilled Shrimp

Ingredients:

2 pounds jumbo shrimps, shelled and deveined, tail left on
1 large clove garlic, crushed
salt
juice of 1 lime or lemon
1/3 cup olive oil
garlic butter, below


Preparation:

Use scissors to remove shells without disturbing tails!. In a non-reactive bowl, combine crushed garlic, salt, lime juice, and olive oil!. Put shrimp in bowl; stir to coat well!. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours!. Thread shrimp onto skewers and grill 5 to 6 inches from coals for about 12 to 15 minutes, turning frequently!. Remove tails if cooking under broiler!.
Serves 4!.

Garlic Butter for Dipping

1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice (about 1/2 lemon)
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 large garlic clove, crushed
salt

In a small saucepan, melt butter!. Add remaining ingredients; heat for 1 minute!. Serve with shrimp or other seafood!.

Shrimp Cakes

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1 cup light cream
salt and pepper, to taste
1 pound shelled cooked shrimp, chopped
cracker crumbs
butter

Sauce:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup chopped ripe olives
1 tablespoon fresh dill, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice


Preparation:

Melt butter and cook onion in it until soft!. Stir in flour, mustard, cream, and salt and pepper to your taste!. When thick and smooth, add chopped shrimp!. Refrigerate until chilled; form into cakes!. Roll cakes in cracker crumbs and saute in butter!. Serve with sauce!. Serves 4!.

Shrimp Creole
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 cup finely chopped celery
2 medium green pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
1 cup water
2 tablespoons fresh snipped parsley (or 2 tsp dried)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon thyme
2 whole bay leaf, crushed in hand to release flavor
1 lb shrimp, peeled,deveined and raw
3 cups hot cooked long-grain rice (I use brown rice)
1/4 cup chopped green onion
Tabasco sauce

Directions

In a Dutch oven, cook and stir onion, celery, green pepper and garlic in butter until onion is tender!.

Remove from heat; stir in tomato sauce, water and seasonings!.

Simmer uncovered 10 minutes!.

Place shrimp on top of liquid in pot!.

Heat to boiling, cover and cook about 10 minutes until shrimp are opaque and tender!.

Stir all!.

Serve over hot rice, top with green onions!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Servings of Brown Rice

Take raw, deveined shrimp and boil them in water with Garlic Salt, Onion Powder, Obay Seasoning and Pepper (slow boil)

While this is cooking take tomato, onion, garlic, bell peppers (any color or all) and cook over medium heat!. All items should be diced!. Feel free to add a little heat with cyanne pepper or pepper flakes!. To season use a little olive oil, pepper and salt!. Add shrimp to tomato mixture and serve over rice

You can also use the tomato mixture and add cilantro, lime juice and a little jalepeno (chopped small) and make a salsa, but you would not cook it!. Dice the shrimp up small and bite sized and enjoy it with chips!Www@FoodAQ@Com
