Question: Sponge Pudding Recipe!?
Does anyone have a recipe for a plain sponge pudding!?
I work in grams not cups!.
Many thanks!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
in a bowl, cream together 4 ounces of caster sugar and 4 ounces margarine!.
Add 4 ounces self raising flour, 2 eggs and a little vanilla extract!.
mix until a smooth cake mix is made!.!.
pour into cake tin and bake for around 20 minutes at 180 degrees celsius!.
4 ounces is around 114g!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

100g unsalted butter
150g caster sugar
4 eggs
1 egg yolk
200g self-raising flour
1-2 tablespoons milk if needed

beat butter and sugar until almost white and the sugar has dissolved,
beat together eggs and egg yolk, mix in slowly to the butter and sugar mixture until light and fluffy, sift flour and fold in,add milk if needed to create a soft dropping consistency,
spoon into a greased pudding bowl, cover with foil or greaseproof paper and steam over pan of simmering water,1-1 andquarter hrs!.

edit!. missed your edit!. you can use this mixture to bake in a moderate oven, 170c,gas 4, for about an hourWww@FoodAQ@Com

What I usually do is use the same quantities of sugar and flour and butter and I always add 2-3 eggs, depending on how the mixture looks like and bake it on a gas mark 6 for 20 minutes, using the same amounts never ever fails me!. And I almost never exceed using two eggs too!. Did you have a certain sponge in particular!? If you spoon jam or syrup at the bottom of the cake tin before you add the cake mixture, then it will become a proper spongeWww@FoodAQ@Com
