Question: I grew a turnip, How do I cook it!?
It's quite large!. Other than soup I have no idea how to prepare it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

rudeness above!.!.!.anyways!! Good for you! I love turnips!. Have you ever tried to eat one raw!? They are very good, kinda tastes like a radish, but a little different!. If you want to cook it for sure, I would recommend roasting it!. Cut it up (1/2in or so cubes), spread on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper, cook in a 375degree oven until fork tender!. (45 min!?) During cooking, toss around with tongs to prevent burningWww@FoodAQ@Com

In the north they seem to eat the turnips in the south they eat the greens!.!.!.I like them both!.!.!.!.young ones can be prepared unpeeled!.!.!.but!. the older ones like the large one you have needs to be peeled because the outside tends to be tough!.
2 ways I like to eat them!.!.!.
peeled and diced!.!.!.cover with enough water to cover then boil until tender!.!.!.drain and add butter,salt and pepper!.

you can prepare turnips just like potatoes!. you can mash them and add milk or cream just like potatoes any recipe that call for spuds you can use your beautiful turnip!.
Please be careful cutting and peeling it as they are an extremely hard root vegetable!. Safety first!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Peel it ,cut it up, boil til tender, then also peel a few potatoes and boil them!. cook til tender ( turnips will take about 10 minutes longer) then whip them both together with butter (lots of) and milk and lots of salt and pepper and they are so deeeeeliscious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Peel off the outer skin, cut up the turnips into slices, add an
inch or two of water, add salt and pepper and margarine and
