My egg had two yolks, what does that mean?!
I was eatting a hard boiled egg while I was talking to my dad when I looked at it and there were TWO yolks! It scared the bajezies out of me and I threw it across the room on accident!. yuk!. what does that mean if there were two yolks in one egg!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

it means you got two yolks!. technically the chicken ovulated twice in the same egg!. if the egg had been fertilized it would have been twins, but commercial hens never see roosters!.

Chicken Twins! Double yolks occur in about one in 1,000 eggs, usually when hens are young!.
A double yolked egg is not so good for making meringue (less whites) and it will mess up your recipies as the proportions are all wrong!.

Double yolked eggs appear when ovulation occurs too rapidly, or when one yolk somehow gets "lost" and is joined by the next yolk!. Double yolkers may be by a pullet whose productive cycle is not yet well synchronized!. They're occasionally laid by a heavy-breed hen, often as an inherited trait!.
