Answers:
I think I know what you have and I wish I could get some of that canned pork from the government!. How did you get that!? Are you in a disaster relief area!? I know the Agriculture Department purchases what they call "commodities" to help prop up food prices for farmers and food producers and that the commodities used to be distributed to poor people before the food stamp program started, but I thought since the food stamp program started the commodities are only distributed to the military, public schools, and the Red Cross for distribution in disaster relief areas!.
But anyway, whoever told you that it is good mixed with barbecue sauce is absolutely right!. It is among the simplest and easiest of recipes to prepare and if done right it will make barbecue pork sandwiches as good as any fresh pulled pork!. To prepare it just empty the can of pork, broth and all, into a sauce pan and pull the pork chunks apart while heating it!. Then dice a medium onion while the pork heats but DON'T add the diced onion to the pork until you have drained the broth after the pork is hot!. After you have drained the broth, then add the diced onions and your favorite barbecue sauce to the hot pork and mix it well, pulling the pork apart, and let it simmer on low heat until the sauce is hot and the onions are tender!. I like a sweet and spicy or a smoky favor barbecue sauce but your favorite barbecue sauce is best!. It's just that simple!. Serve it open face on bread topped with a couple dill pickle slices, or better yet, serve it topped with a couple dill pickle slices on buns as sandwiches!. That is how the mess hall cooks in the Army prepare it and it is absolutely delicious!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
