Making thick water without changing taste?!

Question: Making thick water without changing taste!?
Is there any non-toxic substance that can be added to water that will make it thicker, like the viscosity of syrup, but not change the flavor or color of it at all!? Maybe some sort of gelatin, but I don't want it solid!.

Someone on another question recommended corn starch, but that would change the look!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are a few products used as thickeners that will not change the taste of the food you are thickening!. One is "ThickenUp" Which is a powdered product!. I have used this myself for my daughter and can attest that it does not change the taste!. There is another product called "Simply Thick" which is a gel form!. Both products can be purchased at pharmacy's!. Gelatin will affect the taste of the water!. Corn starch may as well, but Corn Starch and water when cooked over a low heat will turn to a clear gel substance!. It really depends on what you are wanting and why you are wanting it to know what the best thing would be!. Good LuckWww@FoodAQ@Com
