Bun:
baguette
butter or spray oil
finely grated Parmesan cheese

Patty:
ground meat of your choice (about 1/2 pound of extra-lean ground beef and made 10 mini-burgers)
cheese of your choice
seasonings: garlic powder, cajun seasoning, black pepper, salt (all to taste… you know how you want it)

Spread:
mayonnaise (light)
thousand island dressing
sweet pickle relish

Toppings:
red onions
tomato
lettuce

Slice a baguette into thin disks!. Two slices per mini-burger!.
Butter one side of each baguette slice and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese!.

Preheat a skillet to medium high!. Place baguette slices butter/cheese side down and cook until golden!.

Brown one side only!. This can also be done on the grill!. You can also use spray oil and omit the cheese!.

In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, thousand island dressing and sweet relish!. Mix thoroughly and set aside!. It’s about a one-to-one ratio on the mayo and TI!. The sweet relish is to taste!.

Season ground meat to taste!. ( garlic powder, Cajun spices and black pepper!.) Form seasoned meat into patties the same size as your baguette slices!.

*TIP: Sprinkle salt on patties just before grilling!. The salt helps form that seared yummy-ness!.

On a hot grill, skillet or griddle, cook onion slices and patties!. Patties cook extremely quickly!. About two minutes total!. Top patties with cheese as soon as you flip them to get the cheese melting!

To build your mini-burgers, layer baguette with spread, patty, onion, tomato and lettuce!.

Top with another baguette slice and serve with oven fries!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best burgers I ever made just had salt in them and were grilled over oak wood chunks (ashed over)!. Whatever you decide to put in them, lightly mix the ground beef with the seasonings!. Use a fork or your hands to mix!. And if you want to win, use ground beef that is at least 80% fat (80/20)!. When you shape the patties don't make a tight ball and then flatten it!. Scoop up the meat, round it up just enough to shape it, and then shape it into a patty or use a burger press if you have one!. If you don't want the burgers to puff up in the middle, lightly press the back of a tablespoon into the center of the burger to make an indentation!. Then when you grill the burgers don't smash them!! Let them cook halfway on one side, turn and finish cooking the other side!. When you bite into one of these, juice just might squirt you in the eye! So have plenty of napkins on stand by!Www@FoodAQ@Com
