Question: A little stupid but I need to know!?
how do you make a baked potatoe!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Oven Baked
Heat oven to 425oF!. Pierce potato in several places to allow steam to escape!. Place potato on oven rack or baking sheet!. Bake 40 to 55 minutes or until tender when pierced with a fork!. (The number of potatoes being baked does not change baking time!.)

Microwave-Baked
Pierce 1 potato several times to allow steam to escape!. Place in microwave oven; microwave on high (100% power) until tender, turning potato over halfway!. For medium-size potatoes (about 5 ounces), microwave 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes!. For larger potatoes (about 9 ounces), microwave 5 to 9 minutes!.

How to Make a Fluffier Baked Potato
Pierce potato with a fork several times before baking to allow steam to escape!.

Do not wrap potatoes in aluminum foil, which will give them a steamed texture!.

To serve, use a small knife to cut a cross on top!. Push sides and ends gently to fluff!.

How to Get Softer Skin on a Baked Potato
Lightly rub potato with oil or softened butter before baking!.

How to Make a Faster Baked Potato
Half-Baked Potato: Split a medium-sized baked potato lengthwise in half and brush cut sides with olive oil!. Bake, flat sides down, on well-greased baking sheet in 375oF oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until tender and crusty on bottoms!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The only stupid question is the one that isn't asked!. Wash the potato, dry with paper towel and coat lightly with oil (leave skin on) wrap in two layers of foil and bake at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes!.!.!.!.!.check for "doneness" by inserting a toothpick into the potato!.!.!.if it's still hard, bake longer!. You can also test for doneness by gently squeezing the middle of the potato (using a pot holder)!. If it gives in easily to your touch, it is done!.

Once you get that under your belt google "baked potato recipes"!.!.!.!.there are literally MILLIONS of interesting ways to dress up potatoes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Medium-size potatoes (about 5 ounces or 150 grams each)

45 minutes at 400 degrees F!.
60 minutes at 350 degrees F!.
90 minutes at 325 degrees F!.

Potatoes are done if tender when pierced with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 210°F!. Use a meat thermometer to test for doneness!.

You can also test for doneness by gently squeezing the middle of the potato (using a pot holder)!. If it gives in easily to your touch, it is done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I suggest using Yukon Gold potatoes to start out (they're creamier)!. If you want to, wrap it in aluminum foil, poking some holes along the way!. Place it directly on the oven rack, and cook it on medium heat for about 1 hr!. Don't use a microwave or it will get cold really fast (like, as soon as you take it out)!. After an hour, take out the potato, unwrap the foil!. Ct open the top of the potato and pinch the ends to let more potato out, cooling it off!. Slap on some butter, cream cheese, sour cream, or chives (or, if you made it, gravy), and enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

First you need to thoroughly wash your potato and pat dry!. Wrap it in aluminum foil (shiny side on the potato - for maximum heat absorption)!. Put it in the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes, give or take how good your oven is and/or the size of the potato!.

FYI
**Whatever you do DON’T LEAVE THE ALUMINUM ON YOUR POTATO ONCE ITS COOLED!. I wont make this technical but research has found that allowing a foil wrapped baked potato to cool makes it a cozy place (moisture is trapped in an oxygen-free environment allowing spore to grow) for Clostridium botulinum (potentially fatal) to grow!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

INGREDIENTS
1 medium baking potato
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons butter
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C)!. Scrub the potato, and pierce the skin several times with a knife or fork!. Rub the skin with olive oil, then with salt!.
Place the potato in the preheated oven, and bake for 90 minutes, or until slightly soft and golden brown!. Slice the potato down the center, and serve with butter and black pepper!. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top, if desired!.
Variation

For a treat, try slicing the very top of the potato off rather than slicing it in two, forming a 'lid'!. Scoop out the fluffy contents of the potato, keeping the skin intact!. Mix the potato in a bowl with butter, grated cheese and black pepper, then spoon the mixture back into the skin!. Replace the lid and serve!.

This is a more COMPLICATED RECIPE!.

For an easy way to bake a potato, wrap one in aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for a half an hour or until slightly moist!.

I hope I helped you!! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are a couple different ways to make it, but the easiest and quickest is in the microwave!.

Wash the potatoe!. Then poke some holes in it with a knife or fork!. Place in microwave for about 8 minutes!. The potatoe is done when you can easily stick a knife through it and feel that it is soft in the center!. You may need to microwave it longer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You could do it two ways!. The first way is to microwave it( Personally I don't think it comes out as good this way)!. Wash the potato, dry it, and then poke a few holes in it with a fork to prevent it from exploding in the microwave!. Some microwaves have a potato setting, but if yours doesn't, cook it for about 7 mins!. If it's still too hard, cook it a few more mins!.

The other way is to bake it in the oven!. Wash it, dry it, poke a hole with fork!. Bake it at about 350 degrees for 45 mins!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I wash them and poke holes in them and bake at 375 for about 1 hr; or 400 for about 45 min!. I like to rub the outside with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoned salt (I like the crunchy, seasoned skins)!. If I'm making double-baked potatoes, then I'll wrap them in foil though !.!.!.!.!.Do NOT microwave baked potatoes!. They cook unevenly and have a "gluey" consistency!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Microwave!.

Wash and dry!. Poke several holes with a fork!. Spray with butter flavor Pam!. Wrap in waxed paper!. Microwave 7 minutes!. Take out and slam it on the counter top!. Rotate potato/upside down and put it back in microwave for another 7 minutes!. Great skin to eat with your perfectly done potato!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

1 large baking potato Butter or creme fraiche, as an accompaniment !.!.!. Poke holes in potato and wrap in foil!. Bake in oven for 45 to 60 minutes until tender !.!.
