Answers:
yes !.!.!. I LOVE mine! The bristles kept coming out of the other ones I had:) !.!.!. this is nice & flexible and washes up very well (just used it this morning)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, I have one of those and one bristle-type brush, and I have to say, I reach for the bristle one a lot more often than the silicone!. The problem seems to be that the brush doesn't soak up or hold onto the liquid (whatever it may be) that you're brushing onto the food!. Silicone is slippery, after all, which is the point of using it in cooking and baking--but it's kind of counterproductive in a basting brush for most uses!.

It does work really well when what you're brushing onto the food is something very thick and sticky (that doesn't need any extra help clinging onto the brush)!. I used mine to brush a thick lemon syrup onto a sponge cake last weekend, and that worked great!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

My natural-bristle brush got smaller and smaller, due to exposure to extreme heat and flames so I got a silicone one!. It can withstand heat up to 425F and comes completely apart so I can pop it in the dishwasher!. No more bristles in my food and no more unknown gunk where the bristles are attached to the brush!. I've also got a smaller one that's very delicate - you can brush beaten egg onto risen bread without the dough collapsing!.
