Can anyone give me a good recipe(s) for using mulberries?!


Question: Can anyone give me a good recipe(s) for using mulberries!?
My moms tree is heavily laden with fruit this year, would love some good recipes!

Answers:
FRESH MULBERRY PIE

3-4 c!. fresh mulberries
1 c!. sugar
3 tbsp!. tapioca
1 1/2 tbsp!. real lemon juice
2 c!. cherries (opt!.)

Place in a mixing bowl with 1 cup sugar and stir occasionally to make a juice!. After juice has formed, add 3 tablespoons tapioca and let stand 20 minutes!. Then add 1 1/2 tablespoons real lemon juice!. Place in a saucepan and bring to a boil!. Cool 10 minutes, then pour in pie shell!. Serve with whipped cream!.
To make cherry/mulberry pie follow above instructions using 1/2 cherries, 1/2 mulberries and more sugar!.

OR

MULBERRY JAM

Measure out 4 1/2 cups mulberries!. Clean them and run through food mill!. Add 1 package raspberry Kool-Aid and the juices of 1 lemon!. Bring to a boil, add 1 package commercial powdered pectin!. Add 6 cups sugar, stir, bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute!. Put in sterilized jars and seal with paraffin!.

OR

RED, WHITE, AND BLUE CAKE

Cake:

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon vegetable oil


Topping:

1 cup strawberries, blueberries, mulberries, etc!.
4 tablespoons sugar
splash of cola
Cool Whip

While the cake is being prepared, combine the berries, sugar and cola and allow to sit in refrigerator!.
Preheat oven to 350°F!.

Combine the ingredients for the cake and beat together!.

Transfer batter to a cake pan and bake for about 30 minutes or until golden brown on top!.

After cake is finished, let cool for about 15 minutes and top with Cool Whip!. Drain the juice from the berry mixture and spoon berries on top!.

Refrigerate for about an hour before serving

You wouldn't think so but if you put Mulberries into milk it makes the milk separate into little chunks and liquid!. So!. also, Mulberries taste better (like _something_) if you pick them a little reddish!. Put the Mulberries in a bowl, add a little sugar, crush some of them into the sugar, let sit in the fridge a while!. Put the combo on shortcake, add whipped cream, eat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Thats hard because they are amazing as are!.
I agree with yada yada, good on pancacks and shortcakes!.
also try adding a little bit of sugar and leaving them sit a while, it brings out all the juices, then you can use it as a chunky syrup on ice cream!.
Or you can try a raspberry or blueberry muffin recipe and just substitute!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
