Pesto...any ideas?!
Ok, I have several bags of frozen veggies: artichokes, broccoli, and asparagus spears
some sun dried tomatoes (jarred)
a jar of pesto sauce from Trader Joes
some multigrain with flax pasta
and am having the hubby grab some chicken on the way home
any ideas of an easy but delicious way to combine these ingredients (can leave something out if necessary)
Unsure if I should cook the veggies and chicken seperate or right in the pesto!.!.!.
thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Cook them separately and add the pesto at the last minute to heat!. Pesto is better if it isn't cooked!. It can lose its fresh flavor and the parm cheese that's mixed in can separate out!.
Steam or saute your veggies, boil your pasta!. Toss them together in a saute pan with your pesto then serve!.
You can add chicken if you want!. Just saute it in the pan, then stir it in with the rest at the end!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

id do the same as above, however try to time the cooking of the veggies to when the pasta is done being cooked!. as soon as you have drained the pasta toss in the veggies, pesto sauce and the sundried tomatoes!. the heat from the pasta and veggies should bring the pesto and sundried tomatoes up to equal temps!. lots of heat will seperate the pesto sauce, and also ruin the sundried tomatoes as well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
