Answers:
Most traditional ziti recipes make a lot more than your 9x9 pan will hold!. For a smaller amount consider the following:
1 lb!. spicy Turkey Italian Sausage, casings removed
1/2 yellow onion, chopped
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 15 oz can diced tomatos
1 T brown sugar
1/4 cup red wine
1/4 cup good olive oil
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
8 oz ziti macaroni, cooked al dente
2 cups shredded Italian cheese blend
1/2 cup grated parmesan
Saute onion and sausage until cooked thru!. Drain if necessary!. Add tomato sauce and diced tomatos, brown sugar and red wine!. Add 1/4 cup good olive oil!. Add pepper!. Bring to a boil and reduce heat!. Simmer for 30 minutes to thicken and let flavors meld!. NOTE: if you are using pre-made sauce, I recommend adding your cooked sausage and wine to Newman's Own Sockaroonie Pasta sauce!. Toss with cooked ziti and place half in your baking dish!. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the cheese!. Top with remaining pasta and cheese!. Sprinkle with grated parmesan, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
