Answers:
poach it in some milk until it flakes - serve with salt and pepper - safest way for an 8 month old!. (my mum taught me this one when my daughter was young)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Lemon Garlic Tilapia taste really good!.

INGREDIENTS
4 tilapia fillets
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!. Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray!.
Rinse tilapia fillets under cool water, and pat dry with paper towels!.
Place fillets in baking dish!. Pour lemon juice over fillets, then drizzle butter on top!. Sprinkle with garlic, parsley, and pepper!.
Bake in preheated oven until the fish is white and flakes when pulled apart with a fork, about 30 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Awesome! My daughter is so picky when it comes to food lol!.
When you cook fish you want to only cook it until you can flake it with a fork!. The best way is to pan sear it!. Since the longer you cook it the more dry and rubbery it can be you want to cook on high heat for a small amount of time!. If it's still not done then you simply turn down the burner really low and cook until you can flake!. That lemon and garlic sounds really good or you could brush it with some honey or use a simple olive oil and lemon pepper! Sounds good now I want some!.

Why use your son as a Guinea Pig!?

The way you have this worded, you are experimenting with something you admittedly do not know how to cook, nor do you eat!. Yet you are going to make your defenseless 8 month old son eat something you do not!.

I in fact am a grandparent, and would not expect any of my kids, or grandkids to eat something I do not eat!.

If I offended you, I apologize!. Reread you question with a more objective view, and you can see why it sounds like an experiment!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Tilapia is best baked or pan-seared!. Although I would suggest not seasoning your eight-month-old's portion!. When I bake mine, I simply season it with lemon or lime, garlic, and pepper, then bake at 350 for about 20 minutes depending on the thickness!. It should flake with a fork when it's done, and not have any evidence of transparency on the meat!. Careful, fish cooks fast!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

For babies steamed fish is best!. No oil and no unhealthy bits like fat or calories!.
Steaming fish is easy!.
I a pot boil some water!. About half full!.
Now, using a sieve, put the fish in the sieve over the boiling water and replace the lid of the pot!.
Let it steam until fish meat is firm and cooked!.
Enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can poach it but watch the small bones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Your son could choke on a bone!. Give him something else, he's too young for fish anyway!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We love tilapia at our house!. I usually make it 1 of 2 ways!.

First way:

Breaded in cracker crumbs!. You can use bread crumbs too but for some reason the cracker crumbs are so much better!. Crush townhouse crackers they are the best to use!. Dip the fish in a milk/egg mixture then roll around in the crushed crackers and place on a sprayed baking pan!. I like to use Butter flavored PAM and then spray the top of the fish before putting in the oven at 350 until cooked through and crisp!.

Second way:

This is really simple, just put the fish fillet in foil, add a dab of butter and any seasonings that you want, wrap up and bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes!. The fish comes out so flaky and juicy!. Its nice this way because everyone can put whatever seasonings they want on their fish and wrap them individually!.

Those are our favorite ways to make them, hope this helped!Www@FoodAQ@Com
