Buxton Blue is a cousin of Blue Stilton!. It is lightly veined and has a wonderful deep russet colouring that hints at the very special tang of its flavour!. This cheese is perfect with a chilled glass of sweet dessert wine!.
Its production in Europe is regulated under Protected designation of origin laws, having PDO status, and can only be made in and around Buxton from milk originating in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or Staffordshire!. It's no cheap imitation bleu cheese - lucky you!. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the taste, as I've never tried it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Buxton Blue from the Blue Stilton family!. It has a deep russet colour with light veining!. It is made from cow's milk!. It is usually made in a cylindrical shape!. This cheese is complimented with a chilled glass of sweet dessert wine or ruby port!. Geographical area:Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire!. Most of the milk is from farms in the geographical area!. The cheese is produced only in the area of Buxton using the traditional skills and knowledge of the cheesemakers!. Its creamy with a good mellow flavour!. The cheese ripens in ten to twelve weeks and has a fat content of around 45 per cent!.
