Answers:
Its possibly the hot temp but make sure whatever you are frosting is cool and not warm!.!. that will make it melt!.!.!. I also put mine in the fridge( makes it stiffer when frosting)( even if its a can !.!.!. I also keep what I make in the fridge!.!.!.!. you can use egg whites as well because thats all meringuepowder is
Meringue powder is just egg whites!. To substitute for meringue powder just use egg whites!. In almost all uses of meringue powder, your recipe will call for powdered sugar!. So, just combine the powdered sugar called for in your recipe with egg whites!. The ratio to use is 3 egg whites for 4 cups of powdered (a 1 pound box) of powdered sugar!. This is in fact the recipe for Royal Icing!. Beat for about 10 minutes or until fluffy!. If making meringue, follow your recipe and add the egg whitesWww@FoodAQ@Com

Try the Wilton frosting recipe!. I have made cakes for years using it and not once has the icing melted!.

Wilton frosting;

2 Lbs powdered sugar
2 cups Crisco shortening
1 Tbs clear vanilla flavor
1Tbs Butter flavor
1/4 Cup water
2 Tbs meringue powder

Mix shortening /flavorings/water until smooth!. Add powdered sugar and meringue powder!. Mix well!. Use Wilton gel colors to tint the frosting!. Apply to your cake!.

Yes!.!.I know it sounds gross to make frosting from Crisco, but trust me this is the best frosting ever!. Once you frost the cake and pipe on flowers/decorations, it hardens slightly so you should never have to worry about melting!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The best iceing is butter and depending onthe size of the cake to the butter just and the iceing mixture if none iecing suger and when all at the right texture and doesnot tast like butter you can add a little bit of milkWww@FoodAQ@Com

put more icing sugar in - the icing is probably too runny
put less liquid in
put a little more SOFTENED butter in the icing - NOT MELTED butter!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

add meringue powder to itWww@FoodAQ@Com
