These two recipes, can be made the night before!.


HASH BROWN CASSEROLE

2 lbs!. frozen shredded hash brown potatoes (thawed)
1 bunch green onions, chopped
sweet pepper chopped (red – green – yellow – orange – or a mixture of all)
1 lb!. Sausage, cooked until pink disappears, crumbled
1 cup ham cubes
4 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
1 small can sliced mushrooms
1 small can sliced black olives
2 – 8oz!. packages of shredded cheese
? cup milk
12 eggs beaten
Tabasco (optional)
sour cream & salsa (optional)

Grease a 9 x 13 baking pan, wipe excess with paper towel!.
Spread potatoes on bottom (cand be lightly browned in a skillet first if desired)
Sprinkle sausage over potatoes…then
Peppers…
Mushrooms…
Ham!.!.
Onions (reserve about ? cup)
Mix eggs & milk together……!.I added about 2 TBLS!. Tabasco…more to your taste… pour slowly over all!.
Cover with shredded cheese…!.then sprinkle over all
Remaining onions…
Olives…
Bacon…
Cover and refrigerate overnight!.
Uncover and bake at 375 degrees for 35 – 45 minutes…until browned and cheese is melted!.
Serve with sour cream and/or salsa!.

Along with something sweet!

STICKY BUNS

INGREDIENTS:

1 -1 1/2 cups chopped nuts (I used walnuts)
24 frozen dinner rolls (I used Rhodes)
1 pkg!. butterscotch pudding (I used sugar-free instant)
1 stick butter (melted)
1 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
2 tbls!. cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:

Lightly butter (wipe with paper towel) a 9" x 13"baking pan (I
used a glass Lasagna dish)
Spread nuts evenly over bottom of pan, place rolls on top!. (4
across and 6 the long ways)
Sprinkle the `dry' pudding mix over rolls & nuts!.
Combine the melted butter, brown sugar & cinnamon and drizzle
over buns!.
Place waxed paper (that has been lightly sprayed with cooking
spray & excess wiped away with paper towel) over top!. Let rise
overnight!.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, until browned!.
(Second time I made these, I doubled sugar, butter, & cinnamon!)

Make ahead Breakfast Casserole

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Baking Time: 70 minutes

Ingredient List:

8 slices bacon, fried until crisp & crumbled
8 hash brown potato patties, fried crisp
1/2 cup chopped onions
2-8 ounce cans of sliced mushrooms or 12 ounces fresh mushrooms
3 cups cubed medium or sharp cheddar cheese (1/2" chunks)
3 cups cubed smoked ham (1/2" chunks)
6 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup milk


Kitchen Equipment Needed

9" x 13" baking dish


Instructions:

Step 1: Spray baking dish with non-stick cooking spray!.

Step 2: Spread the crisp fried hash brown patties on the bottom of the pan!.

Step 3: Layer the fried bacon, onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, and ham evenly over the hash browns!.

Step 4: Beat the egg and milk together!. Pour over all ingredients in the baking dish!.

Step 5: Cover with aluminum foil and place in the refrigerator overnight!.

Step 6: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees!. Bake covered with foil, for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake 25 additional minutes!.

Step 7: Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving!.

Makes 9-12 servings!.



Coffee Cake

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Baking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredient List:

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 cup fresh buttermilk
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Sugar Topping:

1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Kitchen Supplies:

8" x 8" square baking dish (can also use a 7" x 11" dish)
2 medium mixing bowls

Instructions:

***Preheat oven to 375 degrees!.

Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy!.

Step 2: Break an egg and beat slightly!. Beat into the butter and sugar mixture!.

Step 3: Slowly add in 1 cup of fresh buttermilk and mix well with a whisk!. Set aside!.

Step 4: In a separate mixing bowl, measure the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a fine sieve and sift all into the mixing bowl!.

Step 5: Stir the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until well combined!. The batter will be thick!.

Step 6: Butter the baking dish well and spread the batter evenly!. In a small dish, mix the sugar and cinnamon together!. Sprinkle liberally on top of the batter!.

Step 7: Bake in a 375 degree oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center come out clean!.

Serve warm or make the cake ahead the day before!. The flavors will mellow and taste even better the next day!.



Fresh fruit skewers


Ingredient List:
1 medium sized apple
1 medium sized pear
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 small can pineapple chunks (the 8 ounce size)
24 grapes, seedless, red and green
2 dozen ripe red strawberries

Vanilla Honey Glaze

1 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla

Kitchen Equipment Needed

12 wooden skewers (12 inches long)
small mixing bowl


Instructions:

Step 1: Cut and peel the apple and pear into 1 inch chunks!.

Step 2: Toss the apple and pear chunks with the Tablespoon of lemon juice to keep them from turning dark!.

Step 3: Drain the pineapple chunks to remove the juice!.

Step 4: Separate rach of the fruits into 12 individual portions!.

Step 5: Alternate fruits by threading onto the 12 wooden skewers!.

Step 6: Place honey and vanilla in a smaller glass microwave safe bowl!. Heat just long enough for honey to be able to be stirred!. Do not overheat the honey! Stir the vanilla and honey together!.

Step 7: Divide equally and pour into 6 small bowls and serve along with the fresh fruit skewers!.

Prosciutto-Wrapped Breadsticks Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis

1 (11-ounce) container refrigerated breadstick dough (recommended: Pillsbury)
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
24 paper-thin slices prosciutto

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F!.
Line a heavy large baking sheet with a silpat (nonstick baking mat) or parchment paper!. Tear the dough along the perforations into strips!. Using a pizza cutter or a large sharp knife, cut each dough strip in half lengthwise to form thin strips!. Working with 1 dough strip at a time, roll each dough strip in the Parmesan cheese and twist!. Transfer the dough strips to the prepared baking sheets!.

Bake until the breadsticks are golden brown and crisp, about 20 minutes!. Cool the breadsticks completely on the baking sheet!.

Before serving, wrap 1 slice of prosciutto around each cooled breadstick!. Arrange the prosciutto-wrapped breadsticks on a platter!.



Crunchy Parmesan Chicken Tenders Recipe courtesy Giada De Laurentiis

4 tablespoons plus 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders (about 18)
3 large garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Freshly ground black pepper
1 1/4 cups freshly grated Parmesan
3/4 cup Italian-style seasoned bread crumbs

Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F!.
Brush 1 tablespoon of oil over each of 2 heavy large lined baking sheets!. Place the buttermilk in a large bowl!. Add the chicken tenders and stir to coat!. Let stand at least 15 minutes and up to 30 minutes!.

Meanwhile, mash the garlic with the salt in a medium bowl!. Whisk in the vinegar and then the remaining 1/2 cup of oil!. Season the vinaigrette, to taste, with pepper!. Transfer the vinaigrette to a small serving bowl!.

Stir the Parmesan and bread crumbs in a pie dish!. Remove the chicken tenders from the buttermilk and dredge them in the bread crumb mixture to coat completely, pressing to adhere!. Arrange the coated chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheets, spacing evenly!. Drizzle the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil over the chicken tenders and bake until they are cooked through and golden brown, about 12 minutes!.

Transfer the chicken tenders to a platter and serve the vinaigrette alongside for dipping!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Dads love breakfast in bed!. Kinda makes him feel like a king!.Make dad the kind of feast he'd really love!. Skip the cholesterol count for one day !.!.!. he'll be a happy guy!.

And please remember to always have a theme-appropriate or seasonal arrangement of flowers or a plant in the center of your table!

*Roller Coaster Breakfast

6 ea Eggs
1 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Milk
2 tb Melted butter
Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 450!. Butter 9x13" pan and put into the freezer while you mix the batter!.
Beat eggs with a fork!. Slowly add the flour and mix well!. Add salt, milk and melted butter!.
Pour into cold pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes; then lower temperature to 350 and cook for an additional 10 minutes!.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with butter and syrup!.
This is sort of a huge piece of French toast in a baking pan that looks like a roller coaster!. It is fun to watch if you have a glass door oven!. If not, it is a big surprise when you take it out!

*Strawberry Lemon Pancakes

2 ea baskets strawberries
1/2 c honey
1 c orange juice

2 c unbleached flour
1 1/2 ts baking powder
3 ts maple syrup
2 c milk
3 ts butter
2 ea egg yolks, beaten
3 ts fresh lemon juice
1 ts lemon rind, grated
1 ts orange rind, grated
2 ea egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 ts oil

Clean and cut strawberries!. Crush 1/4 of the berries!. Combine crushed berries and their juice with honey and orange juice!. Gently stir in remaining berries!.Set topping aside until pancakes are ready!.Sift together flour and baking powder and set aside!.In a separate bowl, blend together maple syrup, milk, butter and egg yolks!. Add lemon juice and grated citrus rinds!. Stir in flour mixture, until just moistened!. Carefully fold in egg whites!.Use 1/4 cup of batter per pancake!. Cook until each side browns, about 5 minutes!.Serve immediately, topped with strawberry topping!.

*Cheese and Bacon Grits

4 cups chicken stock
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups regular grits
1 cup cooked, drained and crumbled smoked bacon (about 1 pound uncooked)
1 3/4 cups shredded Monterey Jack
4 green onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon Tabasco Jalapeno sauce
Kosher salt to taste
Freshly ground pepper to taste

In a large, heavy saucepan, bring the chicken stock to a boil!. Adjust the heat to a simmer!. Add 1 tablespoon of the butter!. When it has melted, begin to pour in the grits with one hand while constantly whisking long-handled wooden spoon and stir until the grits become thick and absorb the liquid!. This should take from 7 to 10 minutes!.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons butter, bacon, cheese, green onions and Tabasco!. Combine everything thoroughly and season with salt and pepper!.
Preheat the oven to 350*F (175*C)!. Butter an 8-inch square pan, or other similar-sized baking pan, and spread the grits into the pan!. Bake for 30 minutes or until they are heated through!. Serve hot!.

*Royal Ham and Eggs

1 loaf of French bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 pound cooked ham or sausage, cubed
1 8-ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
12 cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
8 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated
8 eggs
1 teaspoon dried mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup milk

Heat the oven to 350° F!. Butter a 13- by 9- by 2-inch baking dish and line with the bread cubes!.Cover the bread with layers of ham or sausage, chopped spinach, cherry tomatoes, and grated cheese!.In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, dried mustard, pepper, and milk!. Pour the mixture over the casserole!.Bake for 30 minutes, then broil for 2 minutes, or until the cheese turns golden brown!. Makes 8 to 10 servings!.

*Cheese, Bacon and Potato Tart

1 tbsp!. butter
18 slices bacon
1-1/2 lb!. russet potatoes
1-1/4 cups shredded Fontina cheese
Salt and pepper

Butter the inside of an 8 inch round baking dish!. Arrange the bacon in a spiral fashion on the bottom of the pan, bringing it up the sides, and draping it over the edges!. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees!. Peel and slice the potatoes!. Arrange 1/3 of the potatoes in a spiral, beginning at the center of the pan!. Sprinkle 1/3 of the cheese on top of the potatoes and create two more layers of potato and cheese!.Fold the overhanging bacon across the top of the final layer!. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour, or until potatoes are cooked!. Makes 8 servings!.

*Orange Crepes with Fruit Filling

---Crepes:---
4 large eggs
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
7 generous tablespoons all-purpose flour
---Fruit filling:---
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
1 cup fresh quartered strawberries
1 cup fresh blackberries
Whipped cream, optional
Powdered sugar, optional

In a blender container, place eggs, orange juice, sugar and salt!. Cover and pulse 15 seconds until combined!.
While blender is on, add flour one tablespoon at a time until blended well!. Refrigerate for 30 minutes!.
Melt 1/2 tablespoon butter in a 10" nonstick sauté pan!. Pour 3 tablespoons of batter into the pan and swirl around to coat the bottom of the pan evenly!. Cook until edges are nice and brown and middle is firm to the touch!. Loosen edges and flip crepe and cool for approximately 15 seconds!. Slide out of pan onto plate, cover with foil while continuing to make crepes with remaining batter!.In a medium bowl, combine fruit with 1 tablespoon of sugar!. Using a fork, crush the berries slightly to allow the juices to come out!.Place 2 crepes on a plate!. Ladle 1/4 cup of the fruit mixture on one side of each crepe and roll crepe over the fruit!.Garnish with fresh whipped cream or powdered sugar, if desired!. Serve immediately!.
