My husband would like roast beef next week for dinner and I have never made one?!
I would like to put it in the crock pot so when I pick him up from the airport and then we get home it will be ready for him!.
Does anyone have a reciepe that is really good and very tender!? It must have onions, he loves onions!.
Thank you!Www@FoodAQ@Com

That would be a pot roast (rump roast or bottom round) Roast beef is normally cooked in the oven to be medium rare For my crock pot Bottom Round, I flour it and brown it on stove first in some oil then place in crock, I add1 dry package of Lipton onion soup sliced onions and water to almost cover meat, add some sliced carrots, when you come home just thicken gravy with corn starch and water mixture and serve meat with mashed potatoes (you can make those ahead of time and just reheat) You can also make a horseradish sauce for the meat!. Just add horseradish to some sour cream!. Fattening yet YummyWww@FoodAQ@Com
My family loves roast beef and I have a good recipe for cooking it in a slow cooker!.
I simply put the roast beef in the cooker with a little water, medium onion chopped, 1
pkg Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix, 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup(my mom substitutes the cans of soup for 1 pkg of Au Jus), salt and pepper!. I let is cook all day-like 8-10 hrs (I start out on high for 4 hrs then turn it to low for the remainder of the time)!. I sometimes add carrots and potatoes to it to make a stew put my favorite is to just make the roast beef and make mashed potatoes on the side :)
Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

This one is AMAZING
Dried cherries and orange juice add a unique, tangy flavor to this delicious crockpot beef pot roast!. The onions come out caramelized and delicious in the tangy juices!.
INGREDIENTS:
2 large sweet onions, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper
1 large pot roast, about 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 pounds (top round, lean chuck)
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup orange juice
Dash garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon leaf thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup ketchup
5 to 6 ounces dried cherries
PREPARATION:
Arrange onion slices in the bottom of the crockpot; drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a little salt and pepper!. Toss to coat the onions!.
Trim visible fat from the pot roast and cut into 2 to 4 pieces, as desired!. A pot roast might have excess fat down through the center, and that can be cut out if you cut it in two pieces!. Lay the roast pieces on top of the onions!. In a bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; pour over the roast!.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, or cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours!. Serve with the juices and onions!.
Serve the pot roast with potatoes and steamed or roasted vegetables!.
Serves 6 to 8!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

POT ROAST
Your choice of beef or pork(to fit crock-pot)
1 pkg!. dry Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg!. dry Italian dressing mix
1 pkg!. dry Brown Gravy mix
1 cup water
Put beef in pot!.
Mix together all the dry mixes…!.then add water …pour over meat and cover & cook on high 4-6 hours!.
Until meat is tender!.
The first time I made it I didn’t have the Italian Dressing mix…!.so I added a pkg!. of Onion Soup Mix…!.I have to say I liked that better!.
If you use more water you might want to add more Brown Gravy mix…!.to make a thicker sauce!. Was gonna add
potatoes and carrots…but never got around to it!.
