Question: Is it cheaper to buy Subway footlong sandwiches for five bucks ratherthan buying the ingredients at the store!?
With all the extras like lettuce, olives, cucumbers, jalapenos, banana peppers and tomatoes, it seems like its just cheaper to go with them!. What do you think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
It depends on how many sandwiches you are going to make!. If you are doing for one then go to Subway and buy your sandwhich!. If you are cooking for more then it would probably be cheaper to make them yourself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is definitely cheaper!. But is it better!? You have to plan around your purchases!. For example, you are not going to use a whole head of lettuce on a sub!. But you could use it for something else!.

Let me just tell you, food cost is about 30% at Subway!. That means you are paying three times as much as you would for producing the same thing yourself!. But that is the cost of food in volume!. If you try to duplicate it yourself, and let things go to waste, you will end up with a personal food cost of well over what you would expect to pay at someplace like Subway!.

It is sorta like "How can MacDonald's offer a Double Cheeseburger for $1!.00!?"

How do we do it!.!.!. Volume!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

NO!! In the long run you could spend $10 for a roast & or both chicken breast(you cook) and put in tupperware bowls in frig, lettuce$2, tom$3, cucumbers$2, swiss or french bread$5!. & fav!. cheese$4, Dollar store has peppers$1, olives!, etc and and have like 10 or more sandwiches and eat for a week if you do it yourself for about $30!. Plus you would not use all the jars of stuff and could do it again another time only having to get meat, bread etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're making tons of sandwiches then definitely making your own will save you $$$!. But if you just want to satisfy your craving, buying one won't hurt you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I totally agree!. Adjusting for cost, I can't even buy the meat and cheese for $5!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

yes its totally cheaper, but if you one of those DIY people, you would not pass the chance to make one for yourself and your loved ones =)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Absolutely!
With the prices sky high as they are, you'd end up spending twice as much or more than the $5!.00Www@FoodAQ@Com

i agree!. plus it tastes better too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
