Making pie?!


Question: Making pie!?
I already have a pie crust that I am making!. I want to use a strawberry rhubarb or cherry pie filling!.!.!.but I haven't made pie before!. I just want to know what other ingredients need to be put in the filling with the can stuff and if it needs to be baked and for how long at what temp!. Thank you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If using canned filling it is good to go but!.!.!.!.!.!.!.you can doctor it up to suit your taste!.!.!.just taste it and see if it needs anything or nothing!. I find the cherry pie filling a little too tart for us so I always add a little more sugar!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Bake according to your crust directions or the directions on the canned filling usually for pie is 46 min!. to an hour!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.@350'Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you are using the 'canned stuff' only, then nothing else needs to be added!. The cooking times should be on the label!. Depending on the type of pie, the crust might need to be precooked!.!.!.!.again, the label on the can should tell you!. I vote for the strawberry rhubarb one!.!.!.!.yummmm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The can should have the recipe on them but no matter, dump the filling into the raw crust and bake at 425 for 15 min!. on bottom rack, move to middle rack and bake at 375 25 min!.!. The filling is basically already cooked!. You could make a lattice top for these 2 pies!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If the can says "Pie Filling" you don't need to add anything else unless directed to do so on the can!. It does need to be baked until the filling is bubbly and the crust nicely browned!. Usually at 350 for 30 minutes or so!.

In unbaked pie shell dump in a can of prepared pie filling!. put top crust on if you have it, otherwise don't worry!.

Bake in 375F oven for about 25 minutes or until the edges of the shell are nicely browned!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would add some lemon zest to the canned stuff, or a shot of vanill, almond extract goes good with strawberryWww@FoodAQ@Com
