Answers:
Instant rice has been washed of its sticky!. starchi-ness, a key component to sushi rice!.

If you really need to make do with sushi-flavored instant rice, I'd go either chirashi-style, so you don't have to shape the stuff, or hand-roll style so the nori/seaweed will keep everything together!.

Of course just season the rice with mirin after cooking!.

Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sushi is actualy the rice seasoned with rice wine vinegar, any other ingredients like raw fish or avocado are considered garnishes!. You should try to go to the store and find sushi rice or jasmine rice!. Th instant rice you have will not contain enough starch to stick like you need it to!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Short grain rice is what they use!. Because it is plumper & stickier, long raing won't stick together like that!.!. Yu can only find the short in specialty stores!. Medium grain would be closer than long or instant!. Medium grain & long & extra long grain is sold in supermarkets & grocery stores in America!.
Here are pictures of all three types!. You can tell the difference!.

instant rice is like instant potatoes!. Not enough starch !. The sushi rice needs to be sticky and firm to keep a roll, Instant rice isn't intended for that purpose!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

but i think instant rice is disgustingWww@FoodAQ@Com

the rice needs the starch to make a firm rollWww@FoodAQ@Com
