Question: Horseradish!?
I was given some home-made horseradish!. Outside of the standard uses, does anyone have any recipes that use horseradish!? Thank you in advance!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Horseradish Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

* 3 Tbsp Prepared Horseradish
* 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
* ? tsp Lemon Zest
* ? tsp Dry Mustard
* 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
* 3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
* 1 Tbsp Honey
* 3 Tbsp Sour Cream
* Salt and Pepper (to taste)
* ? Cup Whipping Cream


Directions

1!. Mix all the ingredients except for the whipping cream in a bowl and whisk to combine completely
2!. Pour whipping cream in a bowl and whisk to soft peaks!. Should be firm but slouch back level when you remove the whisk!.
3!. Slowly fold the mixture of other ingredients into the whipped cream!. Do not use a whisk!. Use a rubber spatula to gently incorporate the mixture!. Once fully integrated…STOP!
4!. This can be made hours or a day ahead of time and refrigerated!. The flavors meld wonderfully with time!.

Horseradish Burgers

INGREDIENTS

* 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
* 1/2 cup steak sauce, (e!.g!. A-1), divided
* 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
* 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley
* 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
* 4 slices Muenster cheese
* 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted


DIRECTIONS

1!. Heat an outdoor grill for high heat!.
2!. In a bowl, mix 6 tablespoons steak sauce, horseradish, parsley, and green onion!. Form the ground beef into 4 patties!. Brush the patties with the remaining steak sauce!.
3!. Place patties on the grill, and brush with the remaining steak sauce!. Grill for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until meat is no longer pink!. Top with Muenster cheese and the horseradish sauce, and serve on buns!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here is my fave!. Takes some time but well worth it - enjoy!

Prawn and Avocado Salad With Horseradish Dressing
2 limes, peeled and cut into quarters
Sea Salt & Pepper to taste
3 tbsp fresh Italian parsley
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 tbsp Horseradish
2 French shallots, finely sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
20 raw medium prawns, peeled and de-veined, tails on
1 butter lettuce, washed, dried and shredded
2 avocados, each cut into 8 pieces

Place 7 lime quarters, Sea Salt & Pepper, parsley, olive oil, Horseradish and shallots in a bowl and stir to combine!. Squeeze the juice from the remaining lime quarter into the bowl!.

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan; add the prawns and season with Sea Salt & Pepper!. Cook the prawns for about a minute on each side, or until they are nearly cooked!. (They will keep cooking for a short while after removed from the heat!.)

Arrange some lettuce, avocado and prawns in four serving bowls or on plates!. Drizzle dressing over each salad and serve!. Serves 4!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are alot of uses for horse radish!.
Coctail Sauce- Combine horseradish with Katsup and a dash of tobasco for a good strong sauce!.

Horseradish sauce for beef- Combine horseradish with mayonaisse and half and half or sour cream add a splash of wostershire sauce!.(not too much or it will discolor the sauce!.

Bloody Mary mix- Combine 1 can tomato juice with 3 to 4 heaping teaspoons of horseradish,6 to 8 shakes of tobasco sauce, black pepper, wostershire sauce!.

add horseradish to tarter sauce to give it a kick for your seafood dishes and sandwiches!.

All of these are to taste!. Some like it really HOT some dont!. Use your sense of smell and taste for your own special mixes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This one of my favorite toppings for beef tenderloin:

1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish

Mix everything together, and let flavors blend in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or so before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't have any recipes other than eating as much as you like on a hard roll with a good sausage!.
I have made homemade horseradish with my husband over here in Hungary!. We just pulled the root out of my mother-in-laws yard and got busy!. It was fun, we were both crying because it was so hot while we were grating the root!. Came out very good, the best I have ever had!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
