Want to cook broccoli, and then chop it... is that ok?!
I plan on adding some chopped up broccoli to a sauce I'm making tonight!.!.!. more of a sneaky mom trick then anything, but anyways!.!.!. I want to make sure it is cooked first!.
Any suggestions!?
And how could I steam it!? I've never really done it that way before, but I've read its much healthier!.
Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I find it less messy and easier to cut mine first, but either way will work fine!.
You can steam it in a rice cooker!. Or, place a large pot of water on the stove (about half full), then place your collander (metal) overtop!. Then set to high!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's difficult to chop cooked broccoli: it's slippery, might stain your cutting board and has a funky odor!. Cooking broccoli in the microwave is almost like steaming - 1 cup of broccoli cooks in 2 to 3 minutes!.
If you chop it first, you can go straight from cooking it to using it in your desired Sneaky Mom thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

do you have a steamer!?
just cook till al dente' (soft to the tooth)
if you don't have a steamer you can steam in microwave
just place a little water in safe dish, add broccoli and microwave covered until al'dente
I probably would chop first if it were me doing itWww@FoodAQ@Com
