Question: What is a good subsitute for sugar and baking powder!? do i even need baking powder for my amish bread!?
I am making amish friendship bread!. I don't have enough sugar and the baking powder, also no sugar for the pans to dust on!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Okay for your Baking Powder subsitition you can make your own basicly!. For every one teaspoon of Baking powder, you need 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp cream of tartar, 1/4 tsp cornstarch or you can use 1/4 tsp baking soda and one cup of something like buttermilk that is acidic!. Plain Yogart would work as well!.

As to the Sugar, You can subsitute 1 tbsp honey for every cup of sugar!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
