Best way to freeze bananas?!
I've read 3 ways on the net - some mash them and add lemon juice, some put them in the freezer with the peel on, and some peel them first then freeze!. Anyone have any actual experience with freezing bananas!? Basically I'd like to freeze several bananas when they are at the "perfect" stage for me, so that I can take one out and eat when the fresh ones I bought are still green!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I love frozen bananas!.!. What I do is peel them first!. Then I take & cut them no more then a 1/2 inch thick!. Lay them on a cookie sheet with parchment paper!. Then when I feel the cookie sheet up I bought a small spray bottle I keep in the fridge so it's ready to use!. But the spray bottle I mix up 1cup water with 2 tbsp full lemon jiuce!. Then add a packet or two of sweet-n-low!. Spray solution onto the bananas to just get them wet do not drinch!.!.!. I do this so the bananas do not turn brown!. Then put in freezer for a day!. Then when those are froze I put them in a bag & keep in freezer so I can make another batch!. Plus keeping them in a bag prevents them from all defrosting!. Hope you enjoy it!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
you know what, what you do is just peel of the skin, pop them in an air-tight container and if you mash them and add lemon juice, it will interfere with the "FRESH BANANA"taste, so its better if you freeze them up in an air-tight container, make sure its SUPER dry (the container)!.
oh, and are your banana's still green!? no prob! just keep them hanging in the stem(if that what you call it*lol*) and keep them anywhere you like, wait for the banana's to turn yellow, dont worry, i do that all the time and have top quality delicious banana's!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

When I freeze the banana, I usually cut the tip off one end and poke a skewer in it while it still has its peel on so that i can easily peel it after its frozen!. Then after i peel it, i dip it in chocolate then refreeze it to set the chocolate!.!.!.!.!.yummm!!!

I pop 'em in the freezer with the peel on - but I'm using them for quick breads or muffins!. Freezing them makes them mushy, and not at all the same as a fresh banana!. You can always try dipping it in chocolate and then freezing it!. That sounds more appealing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Do you have one of those nifty vacuum sealers!? I peel them, put them in the bag, then use the vacuum sealer to remove the air!. Removing the air with the vacuum sealer helps to prevent frost burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
