What to look for in pots and pans?!

Question: What to look for in pots and pans!?
So some of our pans!.!.!. which were cheap in the first place!.!.!.
are starting to loose that non stick setup and overall it's time for some better ones!.

I have been trying to find some info though AB's food network shows and page but cant find anything!.

I have heard stainless is something worth the price!.

I went to the store and my mom would not even look into spending for the middle of the line!.

So budget is tight however I know good cookware will last a lot longer and will be worth the price!.

So for the middle of the line, what should I look for in pans!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

I finally went with all stainless steel cookware myself!. Watch sales and you might come up with a bargain!. Look for good, thick heavy bottoms on the pans for better heat distribution and less scorching!. Handles should be well attached and comfortable in your hand!. If you use your pans in the oven to finish something, get stainless handles also!. I've had good luck with Tramontina and just picked up a set at Sears for $69 for the 15 pieces!. Now 6 of those pieces were stainless steel storage bowls and lids!. But the set had sizes that I either needed or wanted to fit in with my other set!. Occasionally Wal-Mart has some pieces and sets in their clearance area also!. I got 3 of the deep sided chicken fryers for $20!. ea!. when they normally go for about $50!. I gave 2 as Christmas gifts! Sam's Club usually has Wolfgang Puck's stainless for around $100!. for a large set!. Good Luck!

Cleaning isn't hard!. Usually a good soak with hot water and some dish detergent is enough!. A Brillo pad works on more stubborn soil and I personally use a powdered cleanser called Barkeepers Friend on mine!. Keeps them nice and shiny w/o scratching!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the most important thing to remember when buying pots and pans is that they are heavy duty!. The bottom should be at least 1/4 inch thick and a big thick handle!. This inhibits burning and gives even heat distribution !. the large handle makes it easier to pick up!. Stainless steel is good but I prefer anodized aluminum!. My favorite brand is calphalon at Macy's!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I've cooked with everything, but I still swear by my old T-fal pots and pans from 1994 and another non-stick set from Costco!. I have a $100 stainless pan, but I only use it for one dish since it needs a lot of oil not to stick!. Just go with what you're comfortable with!. I damage pots and pans, and I'd rather replace cheap ones than uber-expensive ones!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well it depends if you wan nonstick or stainless steel or other ones that distribute heat well like the copper ones!. I personally have Anolon advanced and are very good!. They're nonstick and very easy to clean!. Its been like two years that I've had them!. Although you can buy some from target just take care of them by using wooden spoon or plastic that are not going to melt under extreme heat!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I am partial to AllClad MC2 and am still in the process of collecting all the pans I want to get!. Try Revere for middle of the price spectrum!. Just make sure the bottoms are thick!. Thin-bottomed pans are subject to burn your food!. Stores like Bed Bath & Beyond or Williams Sonoma carry good stuff!.!.!.or shop online with sites like Overstock!.comWww@FoodAQ@Com
