Am just wondering about the water used to boil macaroni; do you discard it?!

Question: Am just wondering about the water used to boil macaroni; do you discard it!?
Or can you add ingredients in it to make a soup!?
Usually people discard it because it contains the durum wheat leftover flour!?
What would you do if you wish to make macaroni soup!? drain the water or use it!?

ThanksxxWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I would defintely drain it!. The water is starchy from boiling the pasta, and if you boiled the pasta correctly the water would also contain a lot of salt and possibly some oil!. It would be no good for making soup!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the water contains a lot of starch!. sometimes, this is just what you need to bring your sauce together!. don't use much, but it will really help to tighten up the sauce!.

if you then make ministroni or something, put some in!. i wouldn't go all pasta water, but certainly some, if not half!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Drain the water from the noodles ;) Then add the ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I boil the pasta in just enough water, the remain I use to make the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely drain it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I would say drain then add your other ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Definitely drain it!. It's got tons of starch in it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

just drain it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

the only thing its good for is if your pasta sauce needs a little water to lossen it up but just a spoon or soWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you want to keep it for soup I don't think it will kill you!*Www@FoodAQ@Com
