Having a BBQ this weekend and need your BEST dessert recipe (don't forget to tell me what it is, haha)

Chocolate Mousse with Strawberry Cream

3 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 cup (6-ounces) semisweet chocolate pieces
4 tablespoons creme de cacao
1 cup (1/2 pint) whipping cream
1 (10-ounce) package frozen sliced California strawberries in syrup, thawed
In small saucepan over high heat bring water and sugar to boil, stirring!. Reduce heat; simmer 1 minute!.
Combine chocolate pieces and sugar mixture in blender of food processor fitted with metal blade; whirl until cool to room temperature!.
In medium bowl beat 3/4 cup of the cream to form stiff peaks!.
With rubber spatula fold chocolate mixture into cream, blending thoroughly!. Cover and freeze until firm, at least 6 hours!.
In blender or food processor combine strawberries with the remaining cream and creme de cacao; whirl until smooth!. Cover and chill!.
To serve, pour equal amounts of the strawberry sauce into 6 dessert dishes and add scoops of the chocolate mixture!.
Makes 6 servings!.

Cooking Note: Mousse can be prepared a day or two in advance

Heavenly Strawberry Cheesecake

3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
1 (15-ounce) container ricotta cheese
1 cup plain yogurt
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
4 large eggs
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups strawberries, sliced
In a bowl combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter!. Pat into a 9-inch springform pan; set aside!.
In a blender, combine ricotta cheese, yogurt, sugar, flour, and lemon juice!. Cover and blend until smooth; set aside!.
In a large mixer bowl, beat cream cheese on medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth!. Slowly add the ricotta cheese mixture, eggs, and vanilla to the cream cheese mixture; beating on low speed until combined!. Pour into prepared pan!. Bake at 325°F (160°C); for 1 hour, or until the center is nearly set!. Cool for 30 minutes, remove the sides of the pan, then cool completely!. Chill for 4 to 6 hours!. Top with sliced strawberries!.
Makes 12 servings!.

Applesauce Spice Cake II

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 cups applesauce
2 large eggs
3/4 cup chopped nuts
Cream Cheese Frosting (recipe follows)
Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C)!. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish; set aside!.
Combine flour, sugar, soda, salt, baking powder, and spices into a large mixing bowl!. Mix in 1/2 cup butter, buttermilk, and applesauce!. Beat for 2 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed!. Beat in eggs!. Fold in nuts!. Pour batter into prepared pan!.
Bake for 50 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean!. Cool on a wire rack completely before frosting!.
Makes 12 servings

Cream Cheese Frosting

1/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped nuts
4 cups powdered sugar
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat, and add nuts!. Keep stirring until nuts have browned!. Cool!.
Mix powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla with electric mixer until smooth!. Stir cooled pecan mixture into cream cheese mixture and mix well!.

I have a recipe for VERY sweet cookies, that are DELICIOUS!! When I was young, it was always the tradition for me to make these for picnics!. Just make sure you keep them in the cooler, or they'll melt!.

Nutty-Noodly Clusters:

1-12 oz!. package chocolate chips
1-12 oz!. package butterscotch chips
6 oz!. LaChoy Chow Mein Noodles (the dry ones)
1/2 cup cashews

Melt chocolate and butterscotch chips in a double boiler, over low heat, stirring constantly!. (If you don't have a double boiler, use a pan on the bottom with a little water in it, and a metal bowl on top, or other smaller pan on top, with the chips in it!.) Remove from heat and quickly stir in noodles and nuts so they are evenly coated!. Drop out by teasponsful onto wax paper, chill and refridgerate!.

Makes 24 clusters!.

INGREDIENTS
8 large Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and cut into 1/8 inch slices
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons potato starch
3/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1 recipe pastry for a 10-inch double crust pie
2 teaspoons milk
1 tablespoon white sugar



DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
Position an oven rack in the lower part of the oven and place a baking stone on it!.

Place the apples into a large mixing bowl, and toss with the lemon juice!.

Stir the potato starch, 3/4 cup sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg together in a bowl!.

Roll out half of the pie crust pastry on a lightly floured surface and fit it into a 10 inch pie plate!. Pile half the apples into the crust, and dot with half of the butter!. Sprinkle half of the potato starch-cinnamon sugar mixture over the apples!. Pile the remaining apples into the pie plate!. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture!. Roll out the remaining pie crust pastry, and place carefully over the apples!. Pinch and crimp the edges to seal the crusts!. Use a fork to poke holes in the top crust in a few places!. Brush the top crust with milk, and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar!.
Place the pie in the preheated oven on the baking stone!. Immediately lower the heat to 350 degrees F

Bake until the crust is golden brown, about 60 minutes!. Check half way through the baking time, and cover the edges with aluminum foil for the last 30 minutes if necessary to prevent over-browning!. Cool 3 hours on a wire rack before serving!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Chocolate Chip Cake

1 package butter recipe golden cake mix
1/3 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup vegetable oil
8 oz!. sour cream (do not use low-fat or nonfat)
1 package MINI semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350!. Grease and flour bundt pan using powdered sugar instead of flour!. In large mixing bowl, with mixer, blend all ingredients except chocolate chips!. Fold in chocolate chips by hand and stir gently until well blended!. Bake for 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This recipe was given to me a couple of years ago and it wins rave reviews every time I make it!. I have no earthly idea why it is called Hummingbird Cake, since no hummingbirds were injured in the process of making this cake!

3 cups of flour
2 cups of sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 t baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup vegetable oil
I cup of crushed pineapple
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups mashed ripe banana
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350F, grease and flour 3 9 inch round cake pans!. Mix together dry ingredients!. Add eggs and remaining ingredients and blend well, do not over mix!. Pour into prepared cake pans and bake 25 to 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean!. Cool slightly in pans then invert onto racks to cool completely then frost with cream cheese frosting and top with additional chopped walnuts!.

Cream Cheese Frosting

1 8 oz pkg of cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup of butter at room temperature
1 1lb box of confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract

Cream together cream cheese and butter, beat with a mixer the confectioners sugar until fluffy, add extract!.

You may double the recipe for cream cheese frosting if you desire more on your cake, I find that one batch is enough!. Enjoy!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Very easy and GOOD peach cobbler!.

1 big (sorry don't know the ounces--28!?) can of peaches
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1 cup self rising flour
1tsp vanilla extract
1 stick butter or margarine

combine sugar and flour, stir in milk for batter!.!.!.in the mean time, melt stick of butter/margarine in glass casserole in 350 oven until margarine is melted!. take out of oven, stir can of peaches, juice and all into melted butter, then pour batter in and slightly stir!. bake 1 hr 15 min in 350 oven until crust is brown! easy easy easy and GOOD!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Gramcracker crust, chocolate pudding, and peanut butter!.!.

melt peanut butter in microwave and pour into gramcracker crust till it fills the bottom, then add a chocloate pudding ontop (one packet of instant pudding works great, following the pie directions on the box), chill in fridge for 1 hour

Chocolate Chip Heath Bar Crunch Cheesecake
1 1/2 lbs!. cream cheese, room temperature
2 c!. sugar
1 (12 oz!.) pkg!. chocolate chips
8 oz!. Heath bars, chopped
1 tsp!. vanilla
2 env!. unflavored gelatin
1/4 c!. cold water
8 oz!. oreo cookies
2 tbsp!. soft butter
1 pt!. heavy cream or whipping cream, whipped
Prepared crust

In food processor blend oreos and butter to get a fine crumb mixture!. Press into bottom and 1 inch up the sides of a 9 1/2 inch springform pan and refrigerate!.
Meanwhile, in mixing bowl dissolve gelatin in cold water and set aside!.
Blend cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in mixer!. Place gelatin and water in microwave for 45 seconds!.
Mix gelatin into cheese mixture!. Fold in chocolate chips, heath bars and heavy cream being careful not to over mix!.
Pour finished mixture into prepared crust and refrigate overnight!. Unmold by running a sharp knife around the edge and remove to serving platter!. Makes 12 to 16 servings!. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate carvings!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients
Half a pan of Pasta - your favourite kind!
Two ounces of cottage cheese!. (or two pots)
Sultanas and/or raisins / sliced strawberries/ pineapple
Sugar - add to taste

Directions
Cook your pasta! Easy peasy!
Drain pasta!.
Add cottage cheese, your desired fruit and sugar into the pan!.
Stir

This is my daughter's favorite pie:

LEMONADE PIE
1 large container Cool Whip
1 6-oz!. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed & undiluted
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened, condensed milk
1 9" graham cracker crust
Mix first 3 ingredients until well blended and put into the crust!. You can dollop more Cool Whip around the edges, if you want!. Chill at least 4 hours !.!.!.!.!.!.You can also substitute pink lemonade or limeade (Key Lime Pie)!. The storebought crusts have a plastic insert that flips over the filled pies, so you can stack several in the refrigerator)Www@FoodAQ@Com

HillBilly Cake

1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 can (20 ounces) undrained crushed pineapple
(The pineapple can be sweetened or unsweetened)
1 cup light brown sugar (For Cake Topping)
1 cup chopped walnuts (For Cake Topping)

Mix ingredients together and pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking pan!. Top with the light brown sugar and the chopped walnuts!. Bake at 350 F!. for 40 minutes!.

Well!.!.!.if you are having a BBQ!.!.!.and you want some whimsy!.!.I would make Whoopie Pies and homemade ice cream!.!.!.or you can always do a super yummy Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake which is a little more work!.!.!.or if you want SIMPLE but yummy then I would make Ugly Cake!.!.!.and last if you want something light!.!.!.I would do Pavlova!.!.!.all of these are my BEST recipes!.!.!.

Whoopie Pies
2 cups Flour
1 tsp!. Baking Soda
? tsp!. Salt
1 cup Sugar
1/3 tsp!. Cocoa
? cup Milk
1/3 cup Oil
1 tsp!. Vanilla

Combine ingredients and drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet!. Bake 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes!.

Filling:

1 stick Butter
1 cup Confectioners Sugar
2 Tbsp!. Marshmallow filling

Cream together with mixer!. Spread between two cookies!. You can 1? times the filling!.

Chocolate Cream Cheese Cake

2 cups Sugar
2 cups Flour
1 cup Milk
1 tsp!. Baking Soda
1 tsp!. Salt
1 tsp!. Baking Powder
3 ea!. Eggs
1 cube Butter
4 oz!. Melted Chocolate

Cream Cheese Mixture:
1 ea!. Egg
1 large pkg!. Cream Cheese
1/3 cup Sugar
1 Tbsp!. Corn Starch
2 Tbs!. Butter

Pour half of the chocolate cake mix; then marble cheese mixture in!. Pour rest of cake mix on top!. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes!.

Fabulous Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:
3 cups Powered Sugar
2 Tbsp!. Butter
1 8oz!. Cream Cheese
4 Tbsp!. Cocoa



Ugly Cake
1 cup Chopped Pecans
1 cup Coconut
1 pkg!. German Chocolate Cake Mix or Swiss Chocolate Cake
2 cubes Butter – very soft
1 8oz!. Softened Cream Cheese
2 2/3 cups Powdered Sugar

Line bottom of pan with nuts and coconut!.

Prepare Cake Mix per instructions and pour on top!.

Beat Cream Cheese and butter and then add Powdered Sugar – drizzle on top!. Cook at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes on a lined cookie sheet because some of the batter will spill over!. When cake comes out it will look pretty bad; like it didn’t turn out BUT it’s really yummy!!! Serve with vanilla ice cream!. Very rich~

Pavlova

4 Egg Whites
Pinch Cream of Tartar
Pinch Salt
? cup Granulated Sugar
2 tsp!. Vanilla (1 for dessert and 1 for whip cream)
1 tsp!. White Vinegar
1 Tbsp!. Cold Water
1 Tbsp!. Cornstarch
? cup Superfine Sugar
1 cup Whipping Cream
1 cup Fresh Raspberries
1 ripe Kiwifruit, peeled and sliced
Fresh Mint leaves, optional

I also like to use fresh peaches and blue berries & strawberries!

Preheat oven to 300 degrees!. In large deep mixing bowl beat egg whites with cream of tartar & salt until soft peaks form!. Gradually add granulated sugar, 1 Tbsp!. at a time, while continuing to beat!. When sugar is thoroughly beaten in, add 1 tsp!. vanilla, the vinegar, water and cornstarch!. Continue to beat until very stiff!. Add superfine sugar all at once and beat just enough to mix it in!. Stop beating!.

Shape mixture in individual cake forms on kitchen parchment paper, on a baking sheet!. Bake 10 minutes at 300 degrees!. Do not open oven door!. Turn over temperature down to 200 degrees and continue to bake 1 hour and 20 minutes!. Turn off oven!. Leave Pavlova in oven 30 minutes longer!. Remove from oven and let cool at room temperature!. Pavlova may be prepared to this point ahead of time!.

Serve with whipped cream (remaining tsp!. vanilla added to cream)!. Place Pavlova on serving dishes and top with cream!. Decorate with raspberries and kiwi!. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
