Answers:
Yes, heat the oil up a little, and I would personally recommend Sunflower oil!. Enjoy your egg hun!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Here is how I do it!.
In a non-stick skillet, melt a couple of tablespoons of butter or margarine!.
Drop the egg into the hot butter, and fry until the white is set and starting to brown around the edges!.
Remove from the skillet and place on top of a piece of buttered toast, sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper and enjoy!.

Melt about 1 tablespoon of butter in a non-stick pan!. Crack egg into the pan and let cook until the whites are no longer translucent and begin to crisp on the outsides!. Gently flip the egg over and cook to desired doneness!. If you like soft yolks, then allow the egg to cook for about a minute!. If you like the yolk cooked hard, break it and let it cook thru!. If you like sunny side up, then don't flip the egg over, but cook until yolk is set!. I grew up with eggs cooked in bacon grease and they were fantastic!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Heat the oil first on medium heat, I only use a small amount though, despite suggestions to"poach in oil" like I have been told to do, I think this just makes the egg taste better!. also, If you dont want a welldone yolk, when craking the egg into the frypan, let the white drizzle out before the yolk!.
Use olive oil!.
Good luck :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
Use olive oil!.

You MUST heat the oil first, and it can be vegetable, sunflower or any cooking oil (so NOT olive oil!) - or butter, then simply drop your (shelled!) egg into it - but don't go over the top heat-wise otherwise you'll get a frilly-edged leather-like egg - the posh word for which is BURNT !Www@FoodAQ@Com
Heat butter or marg first, because you don't get the brown bit around the edge!. I't looks like a poached egg but tastes like a fried egg!. If you can be asked, move your pan around a bit so the butter runs on top of the egg, cooking the white but leaving the yolk hot and runny!. YUMWww@FoodAQ@Com
Use canola oil, or best of all, a non-stick pan with a little spray of oil, like Pam and heat first!. Then cook until the white is set on bottom and flip and cook until it is done to your likeness!. For runny yolk, about a minute, for more set 2-3 minutes!.
