Do you think this cake sounds good?!
Hi all!. I am planning to bake a cake next week for my sisters birthday!. It's going to be an orange cake with vanilla icing and topped with coconut!. It's sorta tropical themed party!. BUT, I was wondering if this sounds good to eat and what else can I add to it to enhance flavor or what not!? Any suggestions would be fabulous! Thanks in advance!Www@FoodAQ@Com

grate some of an orange peel in the cake batter!. You can use food coloring to color the coconut different colorsWww@FoodAQ@Com
I would maybe add some orange zest to the icing, or if you want more of a tropical cake, try adding some crushed, canned pineapple and using the juice in place of the water for the cake!.!.!.you could also add some maraschino cherries sliced and some coconut to the cake mix!. This makes a very good, kind of old fashioned tropical cake! It's a bit like a tropical drink!
Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Sounds great!.!.!.I have a similar cake that I like to make where you sprinkle the bottom of the pan with jello powder then put pineapple slices and cherries on top of that, then pour the batter over it all!. Bake and flip when done!. Then of course top that with coconut!! MmmmmmWww@FoodAQ@Com
It sounds good but alot of people dont like coconut, so you might conside leaving the coconut off and asking if anyone wants it when you cut the cake and pass it out to guests!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
