How do I keep my cakes from having a big hump in the middle?!

Question: How do I keep my cakes from having a big hump in the middle!?
Answers:
You cannot get rid of it entirely but you can minimize it by tapping the bottom of your cake pans against the counter after filling them and just before putting them into the oven!. also, make sure that your oven is calibrated correctly as a too hot of an oven can contribute to the hump!.

Well I guess the only trick would be is too not leaven your cake and that would likely result in a bad cake!. That hump in the middle is caused by the cake naturally rising in the oven!. To get rid of it take a good serrated knife and carefully slice it evenly or just leave it and enjoy cake!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Even the food experts on the Food Channel have to cut off the raised uneven part of the cake!. Use a serrated blade, and saw away when it is cooled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

no way to really prevent that!. i tried!.!.!.
i turn top part upside down so its on bottom then i frost it
or
use a serated knife and slice it even but place the cut part down so you dont get crumbs in your icingWww@FoodAQ@Com

make sure you sift it a little till it lays flat in the plan!.!.
don't keep opening the oven don't slam the oven door!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

slam the cake batter down when its in the baking pan and that should get rid of any bubbles!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

really you dont!.!.!.just when you go to ice it cut it off so that the top is flatWww@FoodAQ@Com
