No, it's not easier!. You have to preheat the grill/oven so it's at the right temperature!. A recipe calls for a certain amount of baking at a certain temperature!. Since ovens/grills vary in the amount of time it takes to reach that temperature, it makes sense that you should get it up to temperature before you start cooking (a cold oven won't cook things)!. Additionally, a consistent temperature will help with even cooking!. If you start cold, then go hot, or vice versa, you might wind up with a dish that is cooked only halfway through!.

If you like the idea of turning something on and leaving, you can either use a microwave or invest in a slow cooker!. :-) The microwave gets up to temperature fast enough that you don't need to preheat, and the slow cooker uses long, slow cooking, so has more wiggle room

Roe, by the way, means eggs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If an oven is pre heated you have precise control over temperature which in turn has an effect on the food cooked!. A hot oven will brown food which increases the flavour because when food is browned the natural sugars in that food caramelises!. Too much heat is bad as well as too little so control is necessary!.

The roe of all fish and seafood is either the seman or the eggs depending on the gender!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Roe of any seafood is usually the eggs, like caviar!.!.!.!.don't know about scallops tho!.

About preheating an oven!.!.!.!. The reason you do it is so you heat the oven at an even temperature before you put say!.!.!.cookies,pies, biscuits into the oven so that the oven elements are not constantly heating(as they are with PREHEAT) so that you product is being evenly cooked on all sides at the same temp(That's the theory, anyhow!)Www@FoodAQ@Com

the roe is the orange bit on the side of scallops, you can get them with or without it, you preheat your pan so that the scallops start cooking as soon as you put them in it!. with or without the roe is up to you, I'm not sure what it is, sorry I can't be more helpful!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Roe is the orange bit attached to the scallop is its egg source!. That is the sack where the scallops keep their eggs for laying!. Some people like them, osme do not!. I used to like them until I developed breathing difficulties with ALL shellfish! Shame!. But when it comes to living or dying, living wins hands down!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Roe is the ovary (full with eggs!.)
With a set of instructions you have to preheat since cooking times are given; once the temperature has been reached the effect of cooking is predictable!. But the heating up time depends upon the physics of the cooker and can vary considerably!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Roe is the egg sack, sometimes referred to as coral, because of it's colour!. All seafood (crustaceans) should be cooked quickly other wise they will be tough!. So you pre-heat the grill pan and 'sear' them!. You could put them on a BBQ, but not in the oven!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All i can tell you is that "roe" are eggs or egg mass!.!!! Never had them so dont know how to cook em!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
