Grilled cheeses?!
ok, whenever I attempt to make a grilled cheese, I give it what I call "Brain Surgery" because it looks effed up!. How do you flip it without the sandwich messing up!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
you need to let it toast just a little bit more on the first side before you try to flip it!. and use a good thin spatula!. it sounds to me as if when you try to flip it, you are doing so at that time that the butter has melted into the bread, but the bread is still all soggy from it, not quite toasted!. use a thin spatula and a quick movement under the bread!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If using butter, get it out of the fridge to soften, & take out enough cheese for your sandwich!. 2 slices is yummier!. Heat a non-stick skillet to medium while buttering the outside of 1st piece of bread!. Lay this piece of bread in skillet, butter side down, then lay the cheese on the bread!. Butter one side of the second piece of bread and place on cheese, butter side up!. With a spatula "peak" at bottom slice by lifting one corner!. When golden brown, slide spatula completely under sandwich and flip over!. "peak again and remove when done!.!.!.enjoy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
First, are you adding butter or spraying the pan that you're making it in!? Make sure to spray or butter the pan!.
Are you buttering both sides of the bread!? I'm talking about the outside of the bread, the part that's touching the pan, butter them!
Then, what are you using to flip it!? You can use a big spatula, tongs, or you can try using 2 utensils at the same time and try and grab the sandwich from 2 ends instead of flipping it from one side, try putting 2 forks under it from one side and then opposite that side, put the fork under it then try, or you can try using 2 spatulas, put one under the sandwich under one side and then another under the other side!.
Or, what you can do is, take a plate and put it on top of the sandwich while it's still in the pan!. Put the plate on it so that the bottom of the plate is facing you!. Take the pan and turn it upside down so now the bottom of the pan is facing you!. Take the pan OFF the sandwich!. Now the part of the sandwich that you want flipped is up facing you!. Put it back in the pan the way you want it and put the pan back on the stove so the sanwich can continue to cook!.
BEWARE THOUGH, when you do this, WEAR an oven mitt so you do NOT burn yourself with the hot pan!!!!! You want to make sure when you flip the pan and put it back down, that you're holding the handle of the pan and not the pan itself so you don't get burned!!
Good luck and I hope this helps!Www@FoodAQ@Com

try gripping it with tongs while holding the underside with a big spatula and give it a very speedy flip!. also helps to mash both sides together really tight first, by pressing on it with your flipper/spatula, won't fall apart so easy that way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can use a set of tongs!. That way you can get a grip on both sides!.
Or make it on a George Foreman grill, that way its actually a grilled cheese, and no need to flip! Thats how I make mine!.
also with tomato and bacon!. Mmmm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

put some butter in the pan before you put the sandwich in and when you put the sandwich in the pot,put in kinda on the side instead of in the middle!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Just take a spatula and flip it over to the left or right real fast without tossing it into the air!. That will work great if your doing a bread, mayonnaise, and Kraft sliced cheese, grill cheese sand which!Www@FoodAQ@Com
You need to make sure the cheese has melted enough to cause the bread to stick together but not so melted that it's running off the sides!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
butter each side of (white bread is best), pan should already be hot then sizzle the one size for about 1 minute, reduce heat to low for 2 more minutes, flip & cover for 2-3 minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I use a spatula and "brace" the other side with the butter knife!. Then I can use both hands to flip it over!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Spray pam on the pan first and it should fix your sticking dilemma!!Www@FoodAQ@Com
umm, flip it quick!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
