Question: My boyfriend basically thinks I am incapable of cooking!.!.!?
I've cooked him one good dinner but I don't think that did it!. I'm not exactly the best cook either!. Can anyone suggest some easy faster recipes without too many ingredients or one of your favorite family recipes!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Steak DeBurgo Recipe

4 5 to 8 oz!. beef tenderloin steaks

1 C!. butter

3 garlic cloves minced

1/2 t!. oregano

1 t!. basil

6 oz!. white wine

Heat broiler, grill or frying pan to hot!. Cook to desired doneness!. (rare = 6 - 8 minutes, medium rare = 8 - 10 minutes, medium = 10 - 12 minutes)

In a medium pan melt the butter!. Add the garlic and spices!. Add the wine and stir!. Immediately add the steak and remove to a platter!. Pour sauce over steaks!.

Serves 4!.


Taco Pie Recipe

1 lb!. ground beef

1 medium onion chopped

1 package taco seasoning

1 jar salsa

16 oz!. canned crescent rolls

16 oz!. grated cheddar cheese

Corn chips

16 oz!. sour cream

Heat oven to 350°F!. Brown ground beef and onions!. Stir in taco mix and salsa!. Mix well!. Press crescent rolls in bottom and up sides of a 9 x 13 pan!. Sprinkle broken chips on top!. Spread ground mixture on top!. Bake for 15 minutes!. Take out of oven and spread with a layer of sour cream and top with the cheese!. Bake for 15 more minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get a recipe from the back of a Campbell's soup can!. They have a million of them online too!. They always taste good, are very easy and require very few ingredients since the soup is the flavor of the recipe!.

Doctoring up spaghetti sauce is a good place to start!. Get a regular jarred sauce, a fresh onion, fresh basil, mushrooms if you like, fresh garlic!.
Sautee the onions, 2 cloves of minced fresh garlic and mushrooms in a tbsp or two of olive oil!. Stir constantly to avoid burning!. When the onions are transparent and beginning to brown slightly add in the jarred tomato sauce!. Tear up a few fresh basil leaves and add to the sauce!. Find a cool looking pasta or a multicolored pasta!. Don't overcook the pasta!. You can cook up some ground beef or ground turkey and add it to your sauce!.!.!.or you can just buy one of those cooked rotisserie chickens and shred it and add the meat into your sauce!. Really yummy!.

Get a french bread baguette and brush with olive oil and run a fresh clove of garlic on it!. Grate or put fresh grated parmesan cheese on it!. Broil it or stick it in the oven on high heat!.!.!.keep a close eye on it!.!.!.it will only take a few minutes!. Get a bagged caesar salad and add some freshly grated parm to it and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice!.

Get some good cookbooks so that you can learn the principles of good cooking, and you'll be able to cook anything!. The Fannie Farmer Cookbook and Baking Book are both great resources, as is the New York Times Cookbook!. I also love Mollie Katzen's Sunlight Cafe!.

A crockpot is also a huge help and a great resource!. Put a chicken in the crockpot and pour a container of BBQ sauce over it and leave it for a few hours and it'll taste pretty good- then add some fresh homemade baking powder biscuits (super easy!) and some corn on the cob and you have a good meal!. =]Www@FoodAQ@Com

ITALIAN CHICKEN---AWESOME
2 thin chicken breasts/filets
2 slices prosciutto
2 slices mozzarella
olive oil
italian seasoning
heat about 2 tbsps olive oil in a skillet over med-low heat!. meanwhile sprinkle one side of chicken liberally with seasoning and turn over!. now put a slice of prosciutto and a slice of cheese on the other side of each breast!. Fold in half or thirds depending on size top to bottom (cheese and prosciutto should be on the inside)!. place chicken seam side down in hot oil saute till golden!. turn over and saute till golden again!. use a meat thermometer to check temperature for done-ness!. serve with pasta or potatoes or whatever so yummy!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

One good dinner out of how many!?
Look for recipes that have things in the dish that you like!. Keep things simple for a while until you are more comfortable in the kitchen!. There are cook books with just 4 or 5 ingredients!. Check the book stores by you ( I like Half Price Books)

Cooking doesn't have to involve the stove - and it can be romantic too - how about some fruit kabobs get the kabob sticks, dice up some fruit of all kinds and if that aint good enough drizzle some magic shell chocolate over it and throw them in the freezer!. Then buy some of his favorite snacks and mix up a dip to go with them, food can be fun too!. More importantly can he cook!!?!!?! Gosh Im hungry now!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Shepherd's Pie!. Buy instant mashed potatoes or the ready made kind!. Make 6 servings of instant (season to taste w/ butter, salt & pepper) or simply warm the other in microwave!. Cook 1 lb!. ground beef in skillet, drain fat!. Stir in 1 can Campbell's Cream of Mushroom soup-no water- til warm!. Spread meat &soup in bottom of 8X12 casserole dish!. Open 1 can whole kernel corn, drain & layer over beef!. To that, layer 1 can drained peas or green beans--your choice!. Spread potatoes over all as you might "ice" a cake!. try this- it sounds hard, but if you use a seasoning mix for the salmon, it is really easy- good luck!

BLACKENED SALMON
? lb!. (3 sticks) unsalted butter, melted in a skillet
6 fish fillets ? to ? inch thick

Seasoning mix: ( or by Zatarains or Tony’s creole seasoning mix)
3 tbsp!. sweet paprika
3 tsp!. Salt
3 tsp!. Onion powder
3 tsp!. Garlic powder
1 tsp!. Ground red pepper (preferably cayenne)
1 tsp!. White pepper
1 tsp!. Black pepper
1 ? tsp!. Dried thyme leaves
1 ? tsp!. Dried oregano leaves
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over very high heat until it is beyond the smoking stage and you see white ash in the skillet bottom (the skillet cannot be too hot for this dish), at least 10 minutes!.
Meanwhile, pour 2 tablespoons melted butter in each of 6 small ramekins; set aside and keep warm!. Reserve the remaining butter in its skillet!. Heat the serving plates in a 250 degrees oven!.
Thoroughly combine the seasoning mix ingredients in a small bowl!. Dip each fillet in the reserved melted butter so that both sides are well coated; then sprinkle seasoning mix generously and evenly on both sides of the fillets; patting it in by hand!. Place in the hot skillet and pour 1 teaspoon melted butter on top of each fillet (be careful, as the butter may flame up)!. Cook, uncovered, over the same high heat until the underside looks charred, about 2 minutes (the time will vary according to the fillet's thickness and the heat of the skillet)!. Turn the fish over and again pour 1 teaspoon butter on top; cook until fish is done, about 2 minutes more!. Repeat with remaining fillets!. Serve each fillet while piping hot!.
To serve, place one fillet and a ramekin of butter on each heating serving plate!.
Buttered Noodles
1 package (12 ounces) dried egg noodles
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter, preferably unsalted
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Cook the noodles in lightly salted water according to package directions!. Drain and return to pot!. Heat the butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until brown, watching carefully to make sure it doesn't burn!. Pour the butter over the noodles!. Add salt, pepper and parsley; stir until well-combined!. Serve immediately!.
Green Beans Almondine
1 lb!. fresh green beans
1/2 c!. cooking oil
1/2 tsp!. salt
1 toe garlic, whole
1 c!. sliced almonds
Wash and slice green beans 1 1/2 inches long!. Toast almonds in oven until light brown!. Bring 3 quarts of salted water to a boil!. Cook uncovered for 5 minutes, then place beans in ice water to shock them, and keep their color bright green!. Refrigerate!.
When ready to serve, cover the bottom of a skillet with cooking oil!. Add garlic, then green beans and stir fry until heated through!. Fold in almonds and serveWww@FoodAQ@Com
